Disciple of Prayer
I ask for prayers for my 20 yr old son and my 22 yr old daughter in law. They have a 2 1/2 daughter and a 2 month old son. They have had many struggles in their relationship and have eventually overcame but then when things seem to not go his way my son gets upset and takes his frustration out on her with verbal remarks. I know they still love eachother but the disrespect meeds to stop. Especially since they have 2 little ones. He tells me he doesnt want to stay together just for the kids but i tell him relationships are hard and you have to work hard at them. He also struggles to believe in God or Jesus or even prayer so i pray for that too. My daughter in law believes and she wants to have her family together. I think him not believing has a huge part in how he acts and he also leaned that from his father, my husband. I pray for my husband too to not be they way he is with me because our son is doing the same thing. Ive been praying for the right words to say to both of them so they can fight for success for their family but im fear im failing. Should i just l stay out of it or continue to try and talk to my son about working things out. They are both so young and have 2 huge responsibilities but my daughter feels like shes a single parent most days and just has me here at home to help her. Please pray for them 🙏🙏🙏

We understand your concern for your son, daughter-in-law, and their children. Let us pray and seek God's will together for your family.

Firstly, let us address the issue of belief. It is vital to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life, and that no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6, WEB). Let us pray that your son will come to know Jesus personally, as it is only through Him that we can be saved and transformed.

**Prayer:**

*Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ. We lift up [Son's Name] to You, asking that You reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way. Soften his heart to receive the truth of the Gospel, and help him to understand that You are the only source of true peace, love, and joy. We also pray for [Daughter-in-Law's Name], that You would strengthen her faith and encourage her heart as she strives to keep her family together.*

Regarding their relationship, we must remember that God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16, WEB). While relationships can be challenging, it is important for your son to understand that God calls husbands to love their wives just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her (Ephesians 5:25, WEB). This love is not contingent on feelings but is a choice to selflessly care for and cherish one's spouse.

**Prayer:**

*Lord, we ask that You heal and strengthen the marriage between [Son's Name] and [Daughter-in-Law's Name]. Help them to love each other with Your love, and to work through their struggles with patience, kindness, and humility. Remind them that their love should reflect Your love for the church, and that their union is a lifelong commitment before You.*

It is also crucial to address the disrespect and verbal remarks. The Bible tells us to let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from us, with all malice (Ephesians 4:31, WEB). Instead, we should be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave us (Ephesians 4:32, WEB).

**Prayer:**

*Father, help [Son's Name] to control his temper and tongue. Convict his heart of the hurt he causes when he speaks harshly to his wife, and help him to seek forgiveness and change his ways. Help them both to foster an atmosphere of love, patience, and mutual respect in their home.*

As for your role, Scripture encourages us to instruct one another (Romans 15:14, WEB). It is commendable that you want to help, but remember to do so with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15, WEB).

**Prayer:**

*Lord, guide [Your Name] as she seeks to help her son and daughter-in-law. Give her the right words to say, and help her to speak them with love and wisdom. Be with her as she supports and encourages them, and help her to trust in You for the outcome.*

Lastly, pray for your husband as well, that he too would model godly behavior and love towards you and your family (Ephesians 5:23, WEB).

**Prayer:**

*Father, we also lift up [Husband's Name] to You. Help him to be the husband and father You have called him to be, and to demonstrate Your love and kindness in his home. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.*

Continue to trust in God and His plan for your family. He is faithful, and He hears your prayers.

We're standing with you, sister. We understand the weight you're carrying and we want you to know that we're lifting your son, daughter-in-law, and their precious little ones up in prayer. It's clear that you're seeking God's will in this situation, and we're right there with you.

First, let's ask God to soften your son's heart. We believe that as he encounters the love of Jesus, it will transform his life and his approach to his family. Let's also pray for your daughter-in-law, that she would find strength and encouragement in her faith as she navigates this challenging season.

We know that God hates divorce, so let's ask Him to heal and strengthen your son and daughter-in-law's marriage. Pray with us that they would love each other with the love that Christ has for the church, and that they would work through their struggles with patience, kindness, and humility.

Let's also address the issue of disrespect and verbal remarks. We know that God calls us to let go of bitterness, wrath, anger, and evil speaking, and instead be kind, tenderhearted, and forgiving. So, let's pray for your son to control his temper and tongue, and for both of them to foster an atmosphere of love, patience, and mutual respect in their home.

As you continue to try and help, remember to do so with gentleness and respect. Let's pray for you too, that God would give you the right words to say and help you to speak them with love and wisdom.

Lastly, let's not forget to pray for your husband. We believe that God can work in his heart as well, helping him to model godly behavior and love towards you and your family.

Let's keep trusting in God's plan for your family. He is faithful, and He hears our prayers. We're in this together, sister. Let's keep praying and seeking God's will for your family. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
