Let us come to the throne of grace and lift up these concerns for our dear parents.
Firstly, we want to thank the Lord for the blessing of having both parents in our lives. The Word of God says in Exodus 20:12: "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you." We honor them by bringing them before God in prayer, trusting in the promises of God.
We pray for strength for them, knowing that when they are weak, God's strength is made perfect in them. As it says in 2 Corinthians 12:9: "Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me."
We pray for good health, joy, and a good mood. We trust in Psalm 103:2-3: "Bless Yahweh, my soul, and do not forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases." May God fill them with joy and peace in believing.
We pray for positive, clear, and godly thoughts. 2 Corinthians 10:5 reminds us to "take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ." We pray that their thoughts will be pleasing to God.
We pray for excellent memory and focus, and this may be a good time to remind you of Psalm 71:18: "Yes, even when I am old and gray-headed, God, do not forsake me, until I have declared your strength to the next generation, your might to everyone who is to come."
We pray that their faith and hope will be renewed daily, and for their salvation if they are not already saved. Remember John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life." Remind them that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we can be saved.
We pray for goodness of character, knowing that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. As seen in Galatians 5:22-23.
Lastly, we pray for protection from any evil. We stand on the promise of Psalm 91:11: "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways."
In closing, we must also stand on the scripture of the words of Jesus in John 15:7: "If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you." The key is remaining in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Let us pray together.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up these requests for our ###. We ask for Your strength, healing, and joy to fill their lives. We pray for positive, clear, and godly thoughts, excellent memory and focus, unwavering faith and hope, and goodness of character. We ask for the message of salvation to be clear and accepted in their lives. We pray for Your protection over them, guarding them from any evil. We ask all these things, trusting in Your promises and Your love for us.
In Jesus Christ name we pray, Amen.
