We are truly sorry to hear about your mother's illness and the difficulty you are facing in trying to be by her side. We will lift up both of you in prayer to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as it is only through His name that we have access to the Father and there is no other name given to mankind for our salvation.
Firstly, we want to remind you of the power of prayer and the comfort that God can provide even when we are not physically present. In the Book of Matthew, Jesus tells us, For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them. (Matthew 18:20 WEB) Even though you cannot be with your mother, God is with her, and He hears your prayers.
We also want to encourage you to trust in God's sovereignty. In Psalm 103:19, the psalmist writes, Yahweh has established his throne in the heavens. His kingdom rules over all. (Psalm 103:19 WEB) God is in control, and He loves your mother even more than you do. Trust in Him to work all things together for good, even in this difficult situation.
However, we also want to address the fact that you mentioned your mother is Catholic. While we respect your mother's beliefs, we want to remind you that our salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone, not through any church or religious system. In the Book of Acts, the Apostle Peter declares,
There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved! (Acts 4:12 WEB).
We encourage you to pray for your mother's spiritual well-being as well as her physical healing. Pray that she would know the love and forgiveness that is only available through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Now, let us pray together for you and your mother.
Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ to lift up our sister in Christ and her mother, Mary Margaret Magee. Lord, You know the pain and difficulty that they are facing in this time of illness and separation. We ask that You would be with them both, providing comfort, strength, and peace that passes all understanding.
Lord, we pray for Mary's healing, that You would touch her body and restore her health. We also pray for her spiritual well-being, that she would know the love and forgiveness that is only available through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We ask that You would draw her to Yourself and that she would put her faith and trust in You.
We also pray for our sister in Christ, that You would give her peace and comfort as she is unable to be by her mother's side. We ask that You would provide a way for them to be reunited, if it is Your will.
Lord, we trust in Your sovereignty and Your goodness. We ask that You would work all things together for good in this situation, and that Your name would be glorified.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We will continue to keep you and your mother in our prayers. May God bless you and keep you in His care.
