We are truly sorrowful to hear about the difficulties you're facing with your mother. It's important to remember the scripture that teaches us to honor our parents, as it is one of the Ten Commandments with a promise "that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth." Ephesians 6:2-3 WEB. However, it is also important for parents to not provoke or discourage their children, but to nurture them in the admonition of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4 WEB
Your mother needs to understand that her behavior is not in line with the teachings of the Bible. In Colossians 3:21 WEB, it is written, "Fathers, don't provoke your children, so that they won't be discouraged." This applies to mothers as well. The way she is treating you can be harmful to your spirit and your relationship with her.
Let's pray for her and for your relationship.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come to You as a child in need of Your divine intervention. We pray for this child's mother, that You would soften her heart and open her eyes to the pain she is causing. Lord, we ask that You would help her to understand what her child is going through and to be encouraging, supportive, and helpful. We pray for the healing of their relationship. We rebuke the spirits of harshness, belittling, and division that are causing strife between them.
Father, we also pray for this child, that You would grant him the strength and grace to endure this trial, to forgive his mother, and to continue to honor her, even in this difficult time. We pray that You would bless their relationship and make it a testimony of Your healing power. We ask this all in the precious name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Remember, God's word tells us to "Love one another, even as I have loved you. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13:34-35 WEB. This love includes forgiveness, patience, and kindness, even when it's difficult. We encourage you to show this kind of love to your mother, trusting that God will work in her heart and in your relationship.
Lastly, we want to remind you that it is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to God. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB. If you have not already, consider accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. It is only through Him that we can be saved and have eternal life. John 3:16 WEB.
