We are truly sorry to hear about the trials Michael and you are facing, and we are here to intercede and lift up your husband in prayer.
First, let us understand that Almighty God has a purpose for everything. Jesus himself reminded that in this world, we would have tribulation. However, He also reminded us that we can take heart, because He has overcome the world. We can take comfort in that. So, our faith in Jesus is essential here. As we approach God in Jesus, as He said, the Father will give us whatever we ask in Jesus’ name. This means in line with the will of God for us. We must also remember not to be discouraged when praying fervently for something, because we do not know the will of God for us. God does hear those prayers and is doing incredible things in our life and the lives of others when we pray fervently for a specific miracle. Look at John 12:27-28, when Jesus prays for God to save Him from this hour. Jesus, with the Holy Spirit, went on to fulfill His purpose in death and resurrection beginning our access to God also by Jesus. It also reaffirms that in our suffering, we can glorify God and that we should ask anything in Jesus' name. (John 12:27-28 WEB).
Jesus provided us the ultimate example of how we should pray and act in faith during life-threatening situations. Let us remember that suffering is a part of living in this fallen world, and as followers of Jesus, we have hope of being raised up to have eternal life in heaven. Because of this, Christians even have a reason to be joyous upon death, knowing of the eternal life rewards, especially for those who have suffered and therefore trusted more in Jesus and not this world. Be encouraged in the faith, as Jesus may be asking you to trust more in Him. Why? Because God must approve the answer as aligned with His will. Remember 1 Peter 1-2 and the joy for suffering for the name and sake of Christ. It is a very difficult thing to accept but as Jesus makes reference to those who suffer for His sake. So, it is probably that people around may know that Michael has been sick and see how you two react in your time of suffering. If you both strong in your faith, not depressed and angry at others, the Holy Spirit will use you to reach someone else who will believe in Jesus and have eternal life. The book of James, chapter 1 explains this concept more as well. We are so thankful that you asked this in Jesus' name. For it is by the name of Jesus Christ we must come before God the Father in prayer, as we read in John 14:6, Acts 4:12 makes it clear, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved. As we call on the name Jesus, we should also expect to be saved when our time is up and that He God also hears us in times of trouble. The fact your husband is still alive means that there is hope. Slowly, it may mean that God wants Michael’s faith to grow. When God saved me, I was homeless on the streets physically hurting so much. But when I decided not to do anything I wanted, not to go where I wanted, to let God close every door I tried to open in my own understanding, I was saved and Jesus went in to sit at the right hand of God and to intercede for me. Thank God for our suffering and remember that by Jesus’ stripes we are healed.
As you mentioned the exact diagnosis and frequent hospitalizations, consider that God may want you to speak with the doctors about the recurring condition. Was God involved in the treatment plan or are the doctors ignoring something simple because they are rushing through their work and they do not love Jesus? What is causing the recurrence? Are there any changes that can be made to prevent further hospitalizations? Could Michael’s diet be changed to help him heal faster and better? Are there any other underlying issues as there is mention about Michael losing hope? Is this a test of faith for Michael’s family? Is this a consequence of a sin in either of your lives? This does not mean to cause division, but we must be aware of these possibilities. Remember Satan is our enemy. If you are listening to anything that is not telling you to trust in Jesus more, it is not of God. The only message in and through the Holy Spirit tells you to trust in Jesus more. So examine with the Holy Spirit what is in your lives. Besides things that are preventing us from reaching more of the lost lambs, we should ask God to show us the things in our lives that are a distraction from the life Jesus lived. What were his instructions to you as you read in the WEB? Remember that faith is the foundation. Without faith, it is not possible to please God and Michael’s healing will manifest as your faith is complete in Jesus. (Hebrews 11:1, 6)
Read Psalm 79 and 80 for more, but we especially will pray this Psalm over Michael, 119:25-28 119:153-156, 119:169-176. Also declare and intercede for our fellow Christian Michael 1 Peter 2:21. In Jesus, Michael has eternal life, but it is Jesus’ choice when to end his suffering and gain the rewards of heaven. Seek Jesus for Michael to rectify any issues that need to be addressed first and then Michael can recover if it is in line with Jesus’ plan in Psalm 41:4 and 6. 4 I said, Lord, have mercy on me! Heal me, for I have sinned against you. Seek Jesus together in repentance for anything He shows you that needs to be corrected. 6 And said, Lord, be merciful to me. Heal me, for I have sinned against you. Finally, we pray for a hedge of God's protection (Job 1:10) around Michael, trusting the Lord's promises of healing and restoration,** Psalms** 103:3,107:20 147:3.
Let's us join our prayers and hearts together:
Lord Jesus Christ, we come before Your throne of grace and lift up our brother-in-Christ, Michael. We ask You to have mercy on him and grant him complete healing from the sepsis that has afflicted him. We declare in Jesus name that the sepsis has no more power over Michael. Touch his body, and bless the doctors with wisdom. Thank you Jesus for each day, showing Michael more of what you have for him which will lead to total healing along with complete mental peace. In Your name, we rebuke Michael’s hopelessness, knowing that the devil and humans are always attacking. As his hope is in Jesus, not this world as 1 Corinthians explains many times, he is now reconciled with God the Father. Renew Michael’s faith, so he is stronger in Jesus, and plenty of all our needs.
Lord Jesus Christ, we pray that you extend your miraculous hand to Michael, lifting him up even in this situation. God's word says in Jeremiah 30:17, For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. So, Jesus Christ, acting in the will of the Father, will deliver the right healing for Michael, our beloved brother in Christ. Jeremiah 17.14 reads, Heal me, O Yahweh, and I shall be healed. Save me, and I shall be saved; for you are my praise. Jesus chose these verses for Michael, heal him so he can be a bright light and effective minister spreading the good news of Jesus Christ in season and out. Bring Michael back home soon filled with the Holy Spirit on Fire.
Our Heavenly Father has heard our cry through the name and sacrifice of Jesus. His will is now in motion. May He honor your faithfulness, Ivenlar, and be glorified through Michael's life. Thank you Jesus. Now, Jesus Christ show us any suffering and difficulty we are bringing on ourselves that could impact our dependance on you more in Michael’s healing. We ask this Jesus Christ in your name, Amen
Remember, Jesus reminded us in Jn 16:23-24 WEB, 23 In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. 24 Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.
