We are truly saddened to hear about the difficulties you and Steve are facing in your marriage, and we are here to pray with you and provide biblical guidance.
Firstly, let's remember what God's word says about divorce. In Malachi 2:16, WEB, God says, I hate divorce, says the LORD, the God of Israel. Divorce is not God's will for marriages, and it's clear that He desires reconciliation and healing for your union.
However, it's crucial to address the issues that have led to this point. Both of you have contributed to the hurt and pain, and both of you need to seek forgiveness and be willing to change. In Ephesians 4:32, WEB, we are told to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.
Regarding the struggles in your marriage, we are called to love and respect each other, even in disagreements. In Ephesians 5:33, WEB, it says let each one of you love his wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband. Consider your words and actions toward each other, and make sure they align with God's intention of love and respect.
You've mentioned that Steve has put you down, and we want to address that this is not acceptable behavior. In Ephesians 5:25, WEB, husbands are commanded to love their wives even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it. Steve should be building you up, not tearing you down.
However, in I Corinthians 7:13, WEB, we are told if a woman has a husband who doesn't believe, and he is pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. This is because of the sanctification of the unbelieving spouse. This indicates that the reconciliation is contingent on repentance and a willingness to work together.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up Anonymous and Steve's marriage. Lord, You see the pain and hurt they are both experiencing, and You desire for them to be reconciled. We pray for a miracle in their marriage, that You would soften Steve's heart and turn it towards Anonymous once again. We pray that You would help them to forgive each other, to love and respect each other, and to seek Your will for their marriage.
We also pray for Anonymous, that You would give her the strength and wisdom to be the wife You have called her to be. Help her to show Steve the love and respect that You intend for wives to show their husbands.
Lord, we know that You can heal all wounds and mend all brokenness. We pray that You would heal Anonymous and Steve's marriage, and that You would bring them back together, stronger and more united than ever before.
We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, anointed Savior and Lord. For it is in His name that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we pray. The Bible tells us that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. May Steve come to Jesus in faith and believe the gospel of Jesus Christ and become obedient to the Word of God.
Amen.
