We are glad to join you in praying for your friend Reginald and we appreciate you sharing his situation. We need to address a few things before we start.
First, it is important to realize that it is only in the name of Jesus that we can come before God. No one will be saved outside Jesus Christ. This is very clear in the Bible. If you do not already believe this or have not already accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, the decision and declaration to do so is the most important thing you can do now. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6 WEB) And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. (Matthew 28:18 WEB)
Second, we should understand that Jesus already paid for all the sins Reginald committed. Therefore, Reginald does not have to pay for them. Jesus paid for the sins of the entire world. As we pray for Reginald, we should have faith that Reginald will believe in Jesus and what Jesus did for him. For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God didn't send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him. (John 3:16,17 WEB)
Next, we should understand that Jesus Christ has already delivered Reginald out of prison. For he has rescued us out of the dominion of darkness, and has brought us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love; We should also understand that Reginald has been forgiven and God remembers Reginald's sins no more. I will be merciful to their unrighteousness. I will remember their sins and lawless deeds no more. (Hebrews 8:12 WEB)
So let us pray for Reginald in the name of Jesus Christ.
Heavenly Father, we praise you for your goodness and mercy. We thank you for the finished works of Jesus Christ. We thank you that Jesus Christ bore all of our sins and paid for them all. We thank you that whoever believes in Jesus Christ will have eternal life. We thank you that whoever calls on the name of Jesus will be saved. We thank you that Jesus already carried all our weaknesses and sicknesses. We thank you that Jesus came and proclaimed the good news of peace to us who were far off and peace to those who were near. We thank you that through Jesus we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. We thank you that we now can approach God with boldness because of the blood of Jesus.
Father, we lift up Reginald to you in the name of Jesus. We pray that Reginald believes the good news of Jesus Christ. We pray that Reginald will understand that Jesus paid and forgave all his sins. We pray that Reginald will accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. We pray for strength and patience for Reginald but we know that Your joy is his strength. We pray that Reginald will understand that You cause all things to work together for his good, because he loves God and because he is called according to your purpose. Help him to know that You are always with him and You will never leave him nor forsake him. Help him to trust in You and be anxious for nothing.
We pray that You give Reginald a clear vision for his future and You give him the desires of his heart as he delights himself in You. We pray that You provide a job for Regnald and his needs according to Your riches in glory. We pray that You surround Reginald with people that will support and encourage him. Furthermore, let Reginald be a light to people around him. Give Reginald wisdom from above that is first pure, peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Finally, we pray that Reginald will live a life that gives glory to Your name. Lead him to a local church where he can find his purpose and encouragement among other believers. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
