We are lifting up Johnathan to the Lord today, seeking His healing and mercy. We thank God that we can come boldly to the throne of grace, in Jesus Christ that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need including healing or in this case a wise surgical outcome and quick recovery.
Firstly, we acknowledge that God is the ultimate healer. Even in this situation where surgery is needed, it is God who guides the hands of the surgeons and who brings complete restoration. We pray for the medical team that will perform the surgery in Jesus Christ name we pray they experience the calm and skill of Jesus Christ, that he has given them in their extensive training.
Jesus Christ went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the Good News of the Kingdom of God, and healing every disease and sickness among the people so that Johnathan's immediate need for surgery on a 4-inch hernia would be only a routine surgery and not a major issue from all his extra weight.
The power to heall that was given to the Son of God was not just for a time but it is for all eternity and for all those that believe. So we boldly approach the throne of God in Jesus Christ for the Healing of Jonathan. As he needs to shed excess weight we also seek the spirits guidance for Jonathan and those caring for him for strength and willpower to seek a healthier life. As excess weight can lead to heart disease, cancers, type 2 diabetes and many other diseases. Without the excess weight Jonathan's hernia would probably only be a routine surgery with little complication.
We are reminded of the story in Mark 2 WEB where friends brought a paralyzed man to Jesus, and because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him. When Jesus saw their faith he said to the paralytic, Son, your sins are forgiven you." Some scribes were reasoning in their hearts, Why does this man speak blasphemies like that? Who can forgive sins but God alone? Immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, said to them, Why do you reason these things in your hearts? Which is easier to say to the paralytic, Your sins are forgiven; or to say, Arise, and take up your bed, and walk? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins he said to the paralytic, I tell you, arise, take up your mat, and go to your house. He arose, and immediately took up the mat, and went out in front of them all; so that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw anything like this!
Surgery is needed and we pray for the complete healing and quick recovery of Johnathan. Sometimes we do not see the roof being taken off the house or the immediate glory of our Father but we need to have the faith of the friends to do all we need to do. Surgery needs to happen and we are confident of the results in your prayer request. We come in prayer seeking forgiveness as he needs to be healthier and know better his temple where the holy spirit is meant to reside.
Let us pray.
Heavenly Father, we come before You today in the mighty name of Jesus, seeking Your healing and mercy for Johnathan. We ask that the holy spirit comes upon him to guide him in Jonathans life as he looks to You for healing and he comes closer to you in his struggles with weight and other challenges in his life. We ask that You also draw Johnathan closer to you Jesus Christ.
We pray for the medical team, that You guide their hands and give them wisdom and skill during the surgery for a good outcome and quick recovery. We ask that You bring complete restoration to his body, Lord, we believe that Johnathan is healed and well in Jesus Christ mighty name. We also ask that Your peace and comfort rest upon Johnathan and his family during this time. Lord, we ask for Your will to be done.
We pray that our brother Jonathan draws upon the strength of Christ to face temptation and help him in his struggles.
Irilaemeara, we encourage you to continue praying and trusting in the Lord. Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 WEB). Please let us know how Jonathan's surgery goes and how he is doing to the glory of God that we may rejoice to Jesus Christ.
