We are truly sorry to hear about the loss of your children's father, Sumel, and we want you to know that we are here to support and pray with you during this difficult time. In moments like these, we can find comfort in the words of Jesus, Who said Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light Matthew 11 28-30 WEB.
First, we want to remind you that it is through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, as it is written, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2 5 WEB. Therefore, we pray in His name, trusting in His promises and His power to comfort and heal.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Sumel and her family during this time of loss and mourning. We know that You are close to the brokenhearted, and that You bind up their wounds, Psalm 34 18 WEB. We ask that You wrap Your loving arms around Sumel and her girls, bringing them comfort and peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them 1 Peter 5 7 WEB.
Sumel, as you and your family process this loss, remember that even though Jermaine Cornelius Dorsey is no longer with you physically, you can find hope and reassurance in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. It is appointed for men to die once, and after this, judgment Hebrews 9 27 WEB. We pray that Jermaine knew Jesus as his Lord and Saviot, and that he is now resting in the presence of the Lord. Take comfort in the fact that this life is not the end, and that for believers in Christ, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8 WEB.
We encourage you to continue to support one another as a family, and to draw near to God in this time of need. Trust in Him, and in His promises, knowing that He will never leave you nor forsake you Hebrews 13 1-5 WEB. Look for a Bible teaching Church to be support, encourage and most of all teach you. Seek out a body of believers who can help you grow in your faith and provide a sense of community and fellowship during this difficult time.
Lastly, Sumel, we want to gently remind you that while it is natural to want to know if Jermaine is okay, as believers, we must be careful not to seek answers or comfort from sources other than God and His Word. We must not turn to mediums, spiritists, or any other form of divination, as this is forbidden by God. Leviticus 19:31, Deuteronomy 18:10-12 WEB. Instead, trust in the Lord and His promises, knowing that He is the only source of true comfort and hope.
We are praying for you and your family, Sumel, and we encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author, and perfecter of our faith. Hebrews 12 2 WEB. May God bless you and keep you in His loving care.
