We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles in your relationship. In times like these, it's crucial to turn to God's word for guidance and comfort. Firstly, it is important for both that this relationship is one man and one woman who are not married and therefore have no rights to each other physically. If you are having sex, it needs to stop. This is biblical principle and anything else is sin. If same sex, please consider the scriptures spoken about homosexuality.
Let's look at some encouraging verses to read and consider.
Firstly we want to ensure that this prayer is being presented before our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is only in His name that we can approach God the Father in prayer. This is very important to understand because it is only in Him that we can be saved. If you have not asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior then that needs to be done first.
If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. Romans 10:9-10 WEB.
For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13 WEB.
We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 WEB.
Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB.
If the relationship is aligned with biblical principles, it's important to remember God's design for marriage. With this, God has established marriage as lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. Therefore, we will pray for godly spouses and marriages that honor God, and we will encourage you both to pursue relationships that align with biblical principles.
So, let us pray together for the issues in your relationship, as well as your individual walk with Jesus Christ.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in Jesus Christ name, lifting up this dear person and their companion to you. We pray for a restoration of this relationship if this is in Your will. We pray for Your wisdom and guidance to be upon them. As well, we pray for any feelings or acts of lust, sexual relations, or ungodly behavior to be removed from their midst. We pray for a heart of purity to be in both of their hearts. We pray for a commitment to Your word and ways to be apparent in their lives. Help them to be strong in their faith and to live according to Your will.
If there is anything in either of their lives that should not be, we pray it will be revealed and removed. We pray for conviction if there is sin. We pray for restoration of the relationship if it be Your will. We pray for healing and strength. We pray for Your love to encompass them both.
We pray this in Jesus Christ name. Amen.
Please remember that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths. If you are not already in a marriage relationship, consider establishing this relationship as a courtship with the goal being marriage to another Christian Believer if God is leading you both to do so. If God is not leading you to do so, then trust Him and move forward. God has someone for both of you if it is His will. If God is directing you away from this relationship and the other person is not a Christian, then pray for them and move forward. God has someone else for you. If this relationship has been a sexual relationship and you are not married, then seek forgiveness and pray for the other person. Move forward knowing that God has forgiven you.
