We join you, Jumaro, in lifting up Brother Ayanda, Sister Buzzi, and Brother Zandile in this time of loss. It is our heartfelt prayer that they find comfort and strength in our Lord Jesus Christ, the comforter of those who mourn.
Firstly, we want to remind them of the precious promise in Psalm 34:18 (WEB), "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." In their time of grief, may they sense the nearness of the Lord, who is close to the brokenhearted.
We also pray that they will be strengthened by the Holy Spirit, that they may be able to endure this trial with faith and patience. As it is written in Romans 8:26 (WEB), "In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don't know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can't be uttered."
However, we gently rebuke any thought that may lead them to question God's goodness in this trial. As believers, we must hold onto the truth that God works all things together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28, WEB). Even in this loss, we trust that God has a purpose and a plan.
We also pray for the unity of your church, that you may all rally around these siblings in Christ, bearing their burdens and so fulfilling the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2, WEB). This is an opportunity for the body of Christ to show love and support to one another.
Lastly, we commend you, Jumaro, for praying in Jesus' name. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12, WEB).
Let us pray:
"Father in heaven, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up Brother Ayanda, Sister Buzzi, and Brother Zandile. Comfort them in their grief, Lord. Be their strength and shield. Remind them of the hope we have in Jesus Christ, who has conquered death. Unite their church family around them, Lord, and may Your love be manifested through them. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7, WEB).
