We understand your concern and anxiety, Hwarith, as your son embarks on his first road trip alone. Let's bring your worries to the feet of Jesus and trust in His protection and guidance.
Firstly, let's remember the promise in Psalm 91:11-12 (WEB), "For he will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways. They will lift you up in their hands, so that you won't strike your foot against a stone." We can trust that God will command His angels to guard your son throughout his journey.
However, we want to remind you that worry should not control us. The Apostle Paul tells us in Philippians 4:6-7 (WEB), "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Instead of worrying, let's commit your son's trip to God in prayer.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Hwarith's son to You. Lord, You know the concerns of a parent's heart, and we ask that You watch over him as he embarks on this road trip. Protect him on the road, at rest stops, and throughout his stay. Guide his every step and bring him safely back home. Comfort Hwarith's heart, Lord, and replace worry with Your peace. Help her to trust in You and Your protection.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage you, Hwarith, to continue praying and trusting God. Teach your son to do the same. In Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB), we read, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and donโt lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." Trust that God will direct your son's paths and keep him safe.
