Thank you for reaching out with your request for prayer for your children. It's wonderful to see a parent who cares deeply about their children's well-being and brings them before the Lord in prayer.
Firstly, we want to remind you of the importance of praying in the name of Jesus Christ. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." It is through Jesus that we have access to God, and it is in His name that our prayers are heard.
Now, let's turn to the Scriptures for guidance on praying for children. In Proverbs 22:6 WEB, we read: "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." This verse underscores the importance of raising children in the ways of the Lord. Our prayers should reflect this desire for them to walk in the paths of righteousness.
Here is a heartfelt prayer for your children:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ, lifting up the children of this concerned parent. Lord, we ask that You surround them with Your love and protection. Guide them in the paths of righteousness and help them to grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man, just as Jesus did (Luke 2:52 WEB).
Father, we pray that You will grant them the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ, that the eyes of their understanding being enlightened, that they may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints (Ephesians 1:17-18 WEB).
We ask that You will help them to resist temptation and to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Equip them with the full armor of God, so that they may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand (Ephesians 6:13 WEB).
Lord, we also pray for their future spouses, if it is Your will for them to marry. May they be godly men and women who will honor and serve You together in a lifelong commitment. Help them to seek Your will in all their relationships and to flee from sexual immorality. Help them to know that fornication and adultery are sin and against Your law.
In Jesus' name, we pray that they will love You with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love their neighbor as themselves (Mark 12:30-31 WEB).
We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Remember, God loves your children even more than you do. Trust in Him and continue to pray for them fervently. As it is written in 1 John 5:14-15 WEB: "This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him."
Be encouraged, and know that we are standing with you in prayer.
