We are truly sorry to hear about the situation you and your family are facing with your brother's drinking and violent behavior. Let's bring this before the Lord together, seeking His intervention and guidance. Substance abuse and the problems it can cause are clearly addressed in the scripture. It is a sign of lacking self-control. "Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in reveling and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and lustful acts, and not in strife and jealousy." Romans 13:13 WEB.
Firstly, we want to remind you that God is a God of comfort and restoration. He can help your brother overcome his struggles, and He can provide peace and safety for you and your mother. In all things, it is important to remember that God works through all situations for the good of those who love Him and follow His purpose. "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28 WEB.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this family and their brother who is struggling with drunkenness and violence. Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention in his life. Break the chains of addiction and give him the strength to overcome his struggles. Surround him with Your love and guidance, and lead him to a place of repentance and restoration.
Father, we also pray for the safety and comfort of this family. Protect them from harm and provide them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Guide them with Your wisdom and give them the strength to endure this difficult time. Help them to trust in You and to seek Your will in all things. We rebuke the spirit of fear in their home and pray for a hedge of protection around them.
Lord, we ask that You bring godly influences into this brother's life, people who can speak Your truth and love into his heart. We pray that he would turn to You and find the help and hope he needs. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who alone can save and redeem. "because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10 WEB.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying fervently for your brother and to seek God's will in all things. Remember that God is faithful and that He hears your prayers. Stand firm in your faith and trust that God is working, even in the midst of this trial.
Lastly, we urge you to speak up when necessary. If you or your mother feel threatened, do not hesitate to contact local authorities or seek help from trusted friends or family members. Your safety is important, and God wants you to be wise and discerning in all situations.
Please reach out to us again if you need further support or prayer. We are here to help. Be strong in knowing that God sees, hears, and answers your prayers. Stay in prayer.
