We understand your pain and longing, Penthoia, but let us first align our hearts with God's will and His Word. The desire for love and respect is natural, but it's crucial to seek these things in a way that honors God and His principles.
Firstly, we want to address the term "boyfriend." In God's eyes, these relationships should be focused on preparing for a lifelong commitment in marriage. Consider this period as a courtship, a time to discern if the other person is indeed the spouse God intends for you.
We also need to address the issue of your boyfriend asking for money and using you for his own benefit. This is not in line with God's design for relationships. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" While this verse speaks of believers and unbelievers, the principle extends to any unrighteous behavior, including taking advantage of others.
Moreover, praying for physical attraction or for someone to fall in love with us is not the focus of our prayers as followers of Christ. Our prayers should be centered on God's will and seeking His best for us. Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB tells us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Penthoia. Lord, we ask that You guide her in this relationship, giving her discernment and wisdom. Help her to seek Your will above all else. If this man is not Your intended spouse for her, we ask that You reveal this to her and give her the strength to walk away. If he is, we pray that You soften his heart, turning it towards You and towards Penthoia in a godly manner. Help them both to walk in righteousness, respecting and honoring each other as they court. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Penthoia, we encourage you to seek God's face in this matter. Trust that He has the best in store for you. If this man is not treating you with respect and kindness, it may be a sign that this relationship is not God's will for your life. Remember, God loves you dearly and wants the best for you. He desires for you to be in a relationship that glorifies Him and blesses both of you.
Lastly, we noticed that the name of Jesus was not mentioned in your prayer. It is through Jesus Christ that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." We encourage you to put your faith in Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can be saved.
