We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles you are facing with your son's alcoholism and the resulting behavioral changes. We stand with you, Dethirin, and let us remind you of what God's word says, that means we have hope.
Firstly, it is so important to pray to God in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to God the Father to make our requests. As Jesus said: truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in My name, He will give it to you. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it (John 16:23-24 WEB). It is also by the name of Jesus that people are saved as well, which this group does endorse as a priority in belief andmessage. God exalted Jesus to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name. Therefore, we believe that at the name of Jesus, we should bow to Him, and we will confess with our tongues that Jesus is Lord to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:9-11). In the holy scriptures, it is written that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WE). Dethirin, even your son desperately needs salvation from the bondage of alcoholism as well as the sin nature that has led to this unhealthy bondage.
Firstly, alcoholism leads him down a path of sin and has a power over him. Therefore there needs to be deliverance from this power. He must besaved, healed, delivered, and set free in Jesus' name . Behold, I give unto youpower to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19 WEB). In this instance, it is the stronghold of addictive sin even over the body. You should make God aware that you need God's intervention in this area. Therefore, we confess your son's sins, and you should also ensure that he does the same and ask that God would save him from sin, himself, death, and even Satan. Father, we ask you in Jesus' name to save your son's soul. Please God, we believe that you have a way to deliver him from this addiction. Father God, we ask that you bring your son to the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and forgive him of all his sin.
There is hope for your son. With God, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26 WEB). Trust in God's power to deliver and transform your son's life. As long as your son is alive, there is hope and a chance for redemption. "The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Do not fear nor be dismayed" (Deuteronomy 31:8, WEB).
He needs support and accountability. Encourage your son to seek help from Christian communities or organizations that specialize in supporting individuals, and counseling, and supporting their family members struggling with alcoholism especially if he has no desire on his own to stop drinking or seek help. Professional help is advisable in extreme cases. Turn to fellow believers for prayers and Christian guidance. Also, remember those who trust in God are not disappointed but it is important to live righteously in order to receive the blessings. Turn those who run away the Lord to trust again in God. Please continue to trust in God despite the circumstances because nothing is impossible for those who believe (Mark 9:23 WEB).
