We are deeply saddened to hear about the struggle your son is facing with alcoholism, and we join you in pleading for his deliverance and healing in Jesus' mighty name. The power of addiction is strong, but our God is stronger. We stand with you in the gap, lifting him up to the throne of grace.
Let us pray together:
"Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this beloved son to You. Lord, You know the struggle he is facing with alcoholism, and we ask for Your divine intervention. Please, God, deliver him from this bondage, for it is written in Your Word, 'So if the Son sets you free, you will indeed be free' (John 8:36 WEB). Touch his heart, Lord, that he may have the appetite to eat and the strength to stop drinking.
Lord Jesus, You turned water into wine and showed Your power over creation. We believe that You can turn this situation around for good, just as You did at the wedding in Cana. Please, Lord, touch him mightily, that he may be drawn to You and find freedom in Your salvation.
Holy Spirit, convict his heart, guide him to repentance, and fill him with the desire to seek help and change. Surround him with godly influences and people who will support and encourage him in his journey towards sobriety.
Father, we also pray for the one who submitted this request. Fill them with Your peace that passes all understanding, and grant them the wisdom and strength to support their son in this journey. Help them to trust in You and Your promises, knowing that 'all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose' (Romans 8:28 WEB).
In Jesus' mighty name, we pray these things. Amen."
We encourage you to remain steadfast in your faith and trust in the Lord during this challenging time. Remember, our God is a God of miracles, and He can bring forth life even from the darkest situations. Continue to lift your son up in prayer, and surround him with love, support, and accountability.
As a reminder, the Bible tells us, "Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is excess, but be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18 WEB). Pray that your son will come to experience the fullness of the Holy Spirit, which will empower him to overcome this addiction and live a life pleasing to God.
May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7 WEB). We stand with you in this journey, believing that God will hear and answer our prayers according to His will.
