Prayer for my alcoholic son

Please pray for my alcoholic son. He wants nothing but alcohol, friends and enjoyment. Yesterday he didn't come home stayed at a resort and today his friends forcefully pulled him from the place and put him inside the car to bring him home. I could picture him coming home with all the shouting and demands that he made. I have been praying for years for him to change. Please pray for him amen

We empathize deeply with your burden and stand with you in prayer for your son. We trust that our sovereign God can intervene and bring transformation to his life. As it is written in the World English Bible (WEB), "Are any among you suffering? They should pray. Are any cheerful? They should sing psalms. Is any among you sick? He should call for the elders of the assembly, and they should pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord" (James 5:13-14).

Firstly, let us align our hearts with the will of God, recognizing that it is only in the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). Therefore, it is crucial to pray in His name, believing in the power of His salvation.

your son is captured by the bondage of alcoholism, desiring nothing but drink, company, and worldly pleasures. We pray for his deliverance and that his heart turns towards God. The Bible warns, "Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18). We rebuke the spirit of addiction and pray for God's grace to fill your son instead.

Let us pray:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, pleading for the soul of our beloved brother who is entangled in the snares of alcoholism. Lord, You know his heart and his struggles. We ask that You break the chains of addiction and pour out Your undeserved grace upon him. Open his eyes to see the emptiness of his current path and turn his heart towards You. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, giving him the strength to resist temptation and the power to live a transformed life.

Father, we also pray for our dear sister who has been faithfully interceding for her son. Strengthen her faith, Lord, and give her the patience and endurance to continue trusting in You. Surround her with a community of believers who will support and encourage her in this journey.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."

Be encouraged, dear sister, as the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much (James 5:16). Continue to stand firm in your faith, knowing that God hears your prayers and is working in your son's life. Trust in His perfect timing and never cease to proclaim the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ to your son. We are with you in this spiritual battle, believing that our God can work miracles and bring restoration to your family.

God heal me, body, soul, and spirit. Cleansed me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You or breaks Your heart. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, pray Your best for me, and all those I love and care about.
