We are truly heartbroken to hear about the struggles your son, Cody, is facing. It's important to remember that God is always willing to help and restore those who turn to Him, even in the darkest of times. As it says in the WEB Joel 2:32 And it will come to pass that whoever will call on the name of Yahweh shall be saved. The problem is Cody must be willing to turn to God for help and not just give up. In Psalm 50:15 it says Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me.
First, let's address the idea that God won't help him. This is a lie from the enemy. God is always ready to help and save those who call on Him. In Romans 10:13 WEB For, Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Cody needs to call on the name of Jesus Christ and not just God. This is because it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. In Acts 4:12 WEB There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved!
Let's pray together for Cody:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up Cody in prayer. Lord, You know the pain and struggle he is going through. We ask that You break the chains of alcoholism and hopelessness in his life. Help him to see that You are always there for him, ready to save and restore. Give him the strength and courage to turn to You and call on Your name, Lord Jesus.
We rebuke the lies of the enemy that say God won't help him. Lord, reveal Yourself to Cody in a powerful way. Show him that You are the God of hope and restoration. Help him to find his identity in You, not in the bottle.
We also pray for Cody's relationships, especially with his daughters. Lord, we ask that You restore what has been broken and bring healing to their family. Help Cody to be the father You have called him to be.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Encourage Cody to turn to God and call on the name of Jesus. Remind him that God is always there for him, no matter what. He should also seek help from local support groups for alcoholics, Christian rehabilitation programs, or a trusted pastor. God can use these resources to help Cody overcome his struggles and be a Godly example to his family.
