Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus on behalf of our anonymous friend who is struggling with addiction. Lord, we acknowledge that addiction is a powerful stronghold that can be difficult to overcome on our own. We lift up our friend to you, asking for your mercy, grace, and forgiveness.
Lord, we pray that you would strengthen our friend's resolve to break free from this addiction. Give them the courage and determination to resist the temptations that come their way. Help them to recognize their worth and identity in you, knowing that they are fearfully and wonderfully made in your image.
Father, we ask for your healing touch upon our friend's insecurities. Fill them with your love and acceptance, reminding them that they are deeply loved and valued by you. Replace their feelings of insecurity with a deep sense of security in your unfailing love.
Lord, we confess that we cannot overcome addiction on our own strength. We need your power and intervention in our lives. We pray that you would remove the desire for sin from our friend's heart and replace it with a hunger for righteousness. Help them to find healthy coping mechanisms and support systems that will aid them in their journey towards freedom.
We also pray for any underlying issues or wounds that may be contributing to this addiction. Heal our friend from any past hurts or traumas that may be fueling their struggle. Surround them with godly counselors, mentors, and friends who can provide guidance, encouragement, and accountability.
Lord, we know that you are able to save to the uttermost those who come to you. We trust in your faithfulness and your promise to hear our prayers when we ask according to your will. We claim the truth of 1 John 5:14-15, that if we ask anything according to your will, you hear us, and if we know that you hear us, we have the petitions that we have asked of you.
In Jesus' name, we pray for deliverance, healing, and restoration for our friend. May they experience the freedom and abundant life that you have promised. We thank you, Lord, for your faithfulness and for the victory that is already won in Christ. Amen.
