Prayer for my 23 yr old grandson, ...

Prayer for my 23 yr old grandson, he reached out to his mom today and told her he is going through a lot mentally. Need prayer for his protection spiritually, mentally, emotionally. He is newly saved. His name is Derrick Jr.

We thank you, Lyralder, for reaching out and sharing your concern for your grandson, Derrick Jr. We stand with you in prayer, seeking God's will for his life.

In the face of mental and emotional challenges, we remember the promise in Zephaniah 3:17 (WEB), "Yahweh, your God, is in your midst; a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with joy. He will calm you in his love. He will rejoice over you with singing." God is present with Derrick Jr. in his struggles, and He loves him dearly.

However, we must also address that the request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God, as it is written in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" Let us ensure that Derrick Jr. understands this truth, as it is the foundation of our faith.

Let us pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Derrick Jr. We thank You for his newfound faith, and we ask that You strengthen him in his journey with You. Lord, we plead for Your protection over him—spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. Comfort him in his distress, and guide him through the power of the Holy Spirit. Help him to understand that You are always with him, and that he can cast all his anxieties on You, for You care for him (1 Peter 5:7). We also pray that Derrick Jr. will grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ, understanding that it is through Him alone that we are saved. In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen."

Encourage Derrick Jr. to cling to God's promises and to grow in his faith through the reading of God's Word and fellowship with other believers. Remind him that in his weakness, God's strength is made perfect (2 Corinthians 12:9). We will continue to keep him in our prayers.

I praise God for the in depth wisdom and prayer you have posted. And yes he has accepted Jesus Christ as his savior thank God. I pray God's blessing for you and your family as well.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
