We are truly sorry to hear about the pain and suffering you've endured, and we are here to support you in prayer and truth. Firstly, we acknowledge your faith in bringing your requests before God through Jesus Christ. Let's begin by addressing and praying into the issues raised.
Firstly, we want to gently correct and rebuke the use of the term partner. It is clear that this term is being used to infer a romantic relationship and possibly cohabitation or sexual relations. The scriptures tell us Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit the kingdom of God.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Therefore let him who thinks he stands be careful that he does not fall. It is vitally important that you stand against any sexual sin, including fornication or possibly adultery. Marriage should be held in the highest regard as it is the ordained relationship between God and the church and it is the example of Christ and his bride. This level of intimacy is reserved for this most sacred relationship.
It can be all too easy to get caught in a never-ending cycle of the issues stemming from the abuse from your past. However, let's speak God's word over you as found in 2 Cor 10:5 Bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Recognize in Christ and pray without ceasing you can effect change in your circumstances. It is through confession of your sins and turning to Christ and doing his will you can have the power to overcome. To embrace, healing and restoration. We stand in agreement believing this, in Jesus name.
Now, let's pray together:
Almighty God, we come before You lifted in Jesus Christ, interceding for our dear one who has suffered greatly from past abuse. You see the pain, the mental anguish and trauma. Jesus, You bore our griefs and carried our sorrows (Isa 53:4), and we ask that You pour Your healing balm over the wounds, visible and invisible. As Yahweh you have been the protector, our fortress and city of refuge offer your protection now, blessed Savior. Guide them through the journey of healing and restoration, by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Restore what's been broken. straighten the twisted ways of thinkings and the paths of doings in Jesus name.
Lord, we also pray for the relationship which has come under duress. You have designed marriage to be a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman and a clear picture of your relationship with us. Please bring the joy and closeness of marriage to bring about the maximum change, intercession and be the Godly example to those around. Through Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Once again, we pray, Holy Spirit rain your presence, overtake and renew the mental state, thinking, and the overall health of this holiest of relationships. Make clear the changes that need to be made. Make sure to draw them by your holy spirit, making it very apparent of the working of your presence in their daily lives. Bring them closer to the cross, make the desire of their hearts be the completion of your completed will. Father God in Jesus Christ name we pray and believe.
Amen.
