Thank you SO much! God Bless!!We are truly saddened to hear about the pain you are experiencing, Christiana, and we are here to support you in prayer and truth. Firstly, it is important to address that God's design for marriage is one of love, respect, and mutual submission, as seen in Ephesians 5:22-33 WEB. "Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord... Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it... Nevertheless, let each one of you also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband."
The behavior you described—mean words and aggressive actions—does not align with the biblical principles of marriage. It is crucial to understand that God does not intend for you to endure abuse, be it verbal, emotional, or physical. If there is ever any threat to your physical person, please seek help and safe shelter immediately.
In this situation, we encourage you to pray fervently for your husband, as intercessory prayer is powerful and effective. James 5:16 WEB tells us, "Pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." Pray for his conviction, repentance, and transformation in Jesus Christ. Remember Jesus admonishes us to love our enemies, to do good to those who hate us, to bless those who curse us, and to pray for those who mistreat us.
As for your spiritual healing, we encourage you to read and meditate on the following scriptures:
- Psalm 147:3 WEB: "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."
- Psalm 34:18 WEB: "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
- Romans 8:26 WEB: "In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don't know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can't be uttered."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister Christiana. Lord, we pray for Your healing and comfort upon her heart and mind. Give her the strength and wisdom to endure this trial, and guide her to resources that can help keep her safe. Convict her husband of his actions, Lord, and bring him to a place of true repentance and change.
Father, we also pray that Christiana will draw closer to You during this time. Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, because You care for her. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, ensure you are connected with a local body of believers who can support you practically and spiritually.
