We understand that you're seeking prayer for your mother to allow you to use your $1200 to buy the clothes you want and to accept your style in clothing. However, we should first reflect that God cares about our hearts and our relationship with Him more than our outward appearance or possessions (I Samuel 16:7 "But Yahweh said to Samuel, Don’t look on his face, or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for I see not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart."). We can assure you Lord Jesus wants to bless us. We can not tell you what you should buy or wear. Especially if you have secrets desires to buy clothes that are immodest, do not purchase them. If the Bible is not explicitly clear about the clothes we should wear James 4:17 (WEB) "To him therefore who knows to do good, and doesn’t do it, to him it is sin." These scriptures can, however guide us to clothing choices that honor God. 1 Timothy 2:9-10 (In like manner, that women adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and sobriety; not with braided hair, and gold or pearls or costly clothing; but rather by means of good works, as is appropriate for women professing godliness.) and 1 Peter 3:3-4 (WEB) "Let your beauty be not just the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on fine clothing; but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God very precious."
In addition, it's important to honor your mother, as the Bible commands us to honor our parents (Ephesians 6:2 WEB "Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with a promise). Instead of trying to convince her to accept your style, pray and let God soften her heart to do His will. Clothes are a outward sign of our identity. If your style in clothing causes your mother to worry or is not honoring God, be open to being flexible. You might also consider discussing it openly with her sharing your and her view and praying about this question together.
If you do not want to obey or love your mother properly and God is speaking to your heart to do so this is sin. In addition, if you feel entitled or want to spend money on clothes to boast or inspire jealousy than neither of these desires would be godly. Pursuing these feelings would be sin. When boasting, jealousy, or any other desire not aligned with the fruit of the spirit takes place in our hearts this is sin (Galatians 5:19-26 WEB "Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are... variance, emulations, wraths, strifes, seditions, heresies").
Let Jesus lead you in the way that is right for Him. Jesus should be mentioned because it is only his name we should pray to. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If there is any other way we can access the Father outside of Jesus Christ we do not see this in any scripture. Angels, Our Lady Mary, and all the deceased saints in heaven will all be subject to Jesus in the end. Their is none holy like the Lord; for there is none besides you, neither is there any rock like our God. (1 Samuel 2:2 WEB). Jesus is the Son of God. Whether he is stating literally no one comes to the father, but him, or if he means that he is the full revelation of God the Father to man. Jesus is how we submit prayer requests to God. Even when we are sinning and continue to live in sin, but still pray to Jesus, Jesus will help us make a decision about how to live righteously according to the will of God.
Here's a prayer for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Latroros. Lord, we pray that You will guide Latroros to a style of clothing not necessarily chosen by themselves, but inspired by You and guide them to purchases with their $1200 accordingly. Soften their mother's heart Lord to decisions Latroros's is making about clothing and purchases made with their $1200.
Help Latroros to honor their mother in this process, and to be open to her guidance as well as Yours. We ask if Latroros has any unconfessed sins or things they are not doing not to. Lay those on their hearts to make intercession about. May Latroros always do things in your name Jesus so their mother and anyone else may have a witness of what you have done.
May the decisions of both Latroros and their mother reflect Your will and glory and not of their own. Jesus, you alone give us access to God the Father. No one comes to the father, but by Jesus. No one gains salvation according to God's plan, but by faith in Jesus Christ (John 14:6 WEB "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." and Ma 10:44 WEB "and Jesus cried out and said, He who believes in me, believes not in me, but in him who sent me." and Acts 4:12 WEB "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, through which we must be saved!"). We pray this in Jesus's Name. Amen.
