We understand your desire to meet your future spouse and have a godly marriage. Remember, God's timing is perfect, and He knows the desires of your heart. As you wait, continue to trust in Him and seek His will for your life.
We must remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. It is by His blood alone that we are saved and can confidently approach the throne of grace to find mercy in times of need. It is important to make sure to pray in Jesus' name as that is the only way we can be saved and pray to God. Also, being yoked with another Christian is important as that is what God requires of us.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this beloved child of Yours, asking for Your divine intervention in their life. We pray that You will remove any obstacles, blockages, and delays that hinder them from meeting their future spouse. We ask that You will guide their steps, and lead them to the person You have prepared for them, according to Your perfect will.
We pray that You will help them grow in Your grace and knowledge, that they may be well-prepared for marriage, and be a blessing to their future spouse. Help them to be patient, to trust in Your timing, and to seek You first in all things.
Lord, teach them to make marriage a priority and carefully examine any courtship to make sure it is honoring to You, and to avoid falling into sexual immorality. In Your word, You tell us, "Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB)
Remind them Lord Your word tells us, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB) Teach them that they must marry a Christian to honor You.
Lord, we ask this in the precious name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a people for His own possession, zealous of good works. It is in His name we pray. Amen
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. Proverbs 3:5-7 WEB
We encourage you to continue to prepare yourself for marriage, growing in your faith, and seeking God's will. Trust that He is working behind the scenes, and that His plans for you are good, to give you a future and a hope. Be careful to pray in Jesus' name and to whom you date.
