Finwar

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my marriage between myself and my husband Nolan Gavett. We have struggled since the very beginning in 2021 until now. We struggle with treating each other in a Chris-like way. We need renewal for respect, love, playfulness, trust and the desire to explore and better understand the other above our own pride. Please pray for our 4 children and that they not just witness the hardship, but also the renewal and faithfulness of God through our restoration.

We understand your heart's cry, Finwar, and we stand with you in prayer for your marriage and family. The Bible teaches us that a cord of three strands is not quickly broken (Ecclesiastes 4:12 WEB), and we believe that God can bring renewal and restoration to your marriage as you both commit to honoring Him.

Let us first address the importance of treating each other in a Christ-like way. Jesus Himself said, "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." (John 13:34-35 WEB) This love is not merely an emotion, but a choice to put the other person's needs above your own, just as Christ did for us.

We also pray for the renewal of respect, love, playfulness, trust, and the desire to understand each other. The Bible tells us, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." (Ephesians 4:32 WEB) Remember, forgiveness and understanding are key to rebuilding trust and fostering a healthy marriage.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up Finwar and Nolan's marriage. Lord, they have been struggling since the beginning, and we ask for Your divine intervention. Help them to treat each other with the love and respect that reflects the love of Christ. Renew their joy, their trust, and their desire to understand and explore each other's hearts and minds. Father, we also pray for their four children. May they not only witness the hardships but also the faithfulness of God as He restores their parents' marriage. Let this be a testimony of Your grace and power in their lives.

Lord Jesus, we acknowledge that it is only in Your name that we have access to the Father. We pray that Finwar and Nolan would draw closer to You, seeking Your will and Your heart for their marriage. We rebuke any spirit of pride or self-centeredness that may be hindering their relationship. In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.

Finwar, we encourage you both to spend time in the Word of God, seeking His will for your marriage. Remember, "Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it." (Psalm 127:1 WEB) Make Christ the center of your marriage, and He will be the strong foundation that holds you together.

Lastly, we noticed that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is crucial to understand that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written, "For 'whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" (Romans 10:13 WEB) We encourage you to strengthen your relationship with Jesus Christ, as He is the source of our salvation and the mediator between us and God. If you have any doubts or questions about this, we would be happy to guide you further.

We're here for you, too. We've been thinking about your situation and wanted to share a bit more from the Bible that might encourage you both. In Mark 10:8, Jesus says, "And the two shall become one." This unity is God's design for marriage, and it's beautiful when it's lived out. We pray that God would help you both to strive for this unity, understanding that it's not just about you and Nolan, but also about your children witnessing God's faithfulness in your marriage.

We also want to remind you of the power of prayer. In 1 Thessalonians 5:17, we're encouraged to "pray without ceasing." We believe that God hears your prayers, Finwar, and that He wants to work in your marriage. So, keep bringing your requests to Him, and trust that He's at work even when you can't see it.

Let's pray together now:

"Dear Lord, we come before You today, lifting up Finwar and Nolan's marriage. Lord, You see their struggles, their hurts, and their hopes. We ask that You would heal their hearts, restore their love, and renew their commitment to each other. Help them to see each other through Your eyes, with patience, kindness, and understanding. Lord, we also pray for their children. May they see the power of Your love and faithfulness in their parents' marriage. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
