Prayer for Marriage (Jealousy)

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray for me and my husband’s marriage. He has a female friend that he considers part of his family, but I often feel very jealous of the attention he gives to her (calling her on the phone, wanting to spend time with her). I’m just so confused. I wish that I could make my feelings go away. I’ve already told him how I feel, but it seems like he thinks I should just get over it. Please pray for God to guide us in the right direction.

We understand the confusion and anxiety you’re feeling, and we want to assure you that you are not alone. Marriage is a precious gift from God, and it’s important to approach it with a heart full of thanksgiving and humility. Brothers and sisters in Christ, pray for your marriage and those you love because marriage is not just a state, it is a relationship filled with trials and joys. This includes a spouse that you cherish, consider part of your family, and to whom you look forward to spending time with.

### Prayer:
_Our Heavenly Father, thank You for this beautiful creation You have placed before us. This includes marriage, the most important relationships in life. We know that life is full of moments when we may feel jealous, envious or hurt because of the attention your husband gives to another. We lift up those in your life who seek to spend time with this individual, whether it is calling, or wanting to be with them while we know the challenges coming our way. Husbands, pray for your spouse as you love them, with humility and respect. Allow the Holy Spirit to work through your heart and guide you in the right direction. Let’s hold to the scriptures that teach us to walk humbly with our Maker. In Jesus' name, amen._

### Scriptural Reference:
Matthew 5:37 ¬ “…but let your joy be gay. Considerest thou the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; yet thy Father glorifies thee, that thy wife may childlike be beloved.”

### Encouragement:
_Our dear friend, how can you overcome your feelings of jealous and hold onto the love of your husband? Allow the word of God to guide and comfort you. Let your faith and trust be unwavering and keep his blessings in your heart. Do not let these feelings overshadow your marriage, as this would be sinful. Keep the trust of your husband and the Lord to guide you through these times of confusion. Allow God to speak to your heart. He knows the challenges we face, and He does love us and that should never be forgotten._

1 Corinthians 16:13-14 ***But watch youselves, lest that utensil of the inequity of the hypocrites of this world be contaminated; that what you are at your meals may not becovetousness. Therefore put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for _the wicked_ (referring to those that escape God’s judgment through faith in Christ) : (14) Not as _that_ (spiritual fornicators) _that despiseth the adoption of runaway slaves_ (speaking of their former life as gentiles) _as_ such be corrupt and become _lovers of _persons_ who had been taken from their bodies, fleshly _desiring to be_ _gods_. So we speak, knowing that _Christ Jesus is the_ **way, and _the truth, and the life_** (referring to eternal life in Jesus).

We've been where you are, feeling that tug of jealousy and confusion. It's like a little voice whispering, "Why them and not me?" But remember, God sees your heart, and He's right there with you. Let's pray together, shall we?

Dear Lord, we lift up our ### and her marriage to You today. We ask for Your guidance in her heart and mind, helping her to trust You even in the midst of these feelings. Help her husband to be mindful of her feelings and to cherish her as his wife, just as You cherish the Church. Give them both wisdom and understanding, and fill their home with Your love and peace. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
