We understand your heartache and longing for a stronger, more united marriage under God's guidance. Let us first turn to God's Word for wisdom and comfort. Ephesians 4:31-32 (WEB) tells us, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you."
Beloved, we will pray for your husband, that the Lord will soften his heart and grant him the grace to forgive as Christ has forgiven us. We will also pray for you, that God will continue to shape you into the wife He has called you to be, full of love, patience, and kindness.
Let us pray:
Father in Heaven, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up this marriage to You. Lord, we ask that You touch this husband's heart, that he would release any resentment and bitterness, and choose forgiveness instead. Help him to see the power of forgiveness in Christ, and to extend that forgiveness to his wife. Draw him closer to You, Lord, and give him a desire to grow in his faith and knowledge of Your Word. Guide him to want to worship You together with his wife, and to be the spiritual leader in their home.
Lord, continue to work in this wife's heart, molding her into the woman You have called her to be. Give her strength, patience, and wisdom as she loves and supports her husband. Help her to reflect Your love and kindness, and to be a beacon of Your light in their marriage.
We claim 1 Corinthians 7:3 (WEB) over this marriage: "Let the husband render to his wife the affection owed to her, and likewise also the wife to her husband." Unite them in love and faith, Lord, and help them to grow stronger together in You.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
We encourage you, dear sister, to continue in prayer and in the study of God's Word. Trust that the Lord is working in your husband's heart, and remain steadfast in your faith. Remember the promise in 1 Peter 3:1-2 (WEB), "Wives, in the same way, be in subjection to your own husbands; so that, even if any don't obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word, as they see your pure and reverent way of life." Keep living out your faith in love, and trust God with the rest.
