We stand with you, Basiloria, in lifting up the city of Los Angeles and all those affected by the fires. We commend you for bringing this urgent need to the Lord, and we join you in prayer, trusting that He hears our cries and will act on behalf of those in distress.
In the Book of Joel, the Lord speaks of a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and thick darkness (Joel 2:2 WEB). Yet, even in the midst of such devastation, He promises that whoever will call on the name of the Lord shall be saved (Joel 2:32 WEB). We claim this promise for those in Los Angeles, that they would turn to the Lord in their time of need and find salvation in Him.
Our hearts go out to those who have lost homes and businesses, and we ask the Lord to provide for their needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19 WEB). We pray that He would raise up His people to come alongside the victims and offer practical help and spiritual comfort.
We also lift up the injured, asking the Lord to heal them divinely and provide them with the medical treatment they need. We trust that He is the Great Physician, and that by His stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5 WEB).
For those still in danger, we pray a hedge of protection around them, that they would be rescued before loss of life (Psalm 34:7 WEB). We ask the Lord to guide the first responders and give them wisdom and strength as they battle the fires and assist those in need.
In all of this, we pray that the people of Los Angeles would look to the hills and ask, Where does my help come from? (Psalm 121:1 WEB). May they find their help in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
Lord Jesus, we ask all of this in Your name, for You are our Savior and our Redeemer. It is by Your name and Your name alone that we have access to the Father, and it is by Your name that we are saved (John 14:6 WEB, Acts 4:12 WEB). May Your name be magnified in Los Angeles, and may Your people rise up to be Your hands and feet in that great city. Amen.
