Let us come together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ to lift up Johnny in prayer, asking for God's intervention in his life.
Firstly, we acknowledge that Johnny has professed his love for Jesus, which is a powerful foundation to build upon. However, we must also address the seriousness of the situation. Johnny has fallen into drug addiction, which has led to a dangerous overdose and a spiraling life. We must rebuke the enemy's work in his life and pray for deliverance from this addiction. As it is written in Romans 6:16 WEB, "Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves as servants to obedience, you are servants to whomever you obey; whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?" Johnny must turn away from sin and turn towards obedience to righteousness.
Let us pray for his parents, family members, and friends who are Christian believers to intervene and speak to his heart and take action to help remove the people in his life that are corrupting him. This is not a situation where someone needs to be non-judgmental. His very life is at stake and this is a situation where Johnny, his family, and friends need to make clear judgements and take clear actions against this evil. He must remove himself from this environment. We pray for God's strength to remove the people in his life who are causing him to stumble in his walk with Jesus Christ. As the Word of God says in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"
We pray for Johnny's complete healing and restoration. May God grant him the strength to overcome his addiction and return to a life firmly rooted in faith. As it is written in John 8:36 WEB, "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." We have hope that Jesus can break the chains of addiction and set Johnny free.
Johnny is to pursue a godly marriage to a godly spouse, not just a partner, boyfriend, or girlfriend. We rebuke any premarital sex or fornication, which is sin. We pray that he will pursue a godly spouse and build a strong marriage founded on biblical principles, putting away the concept of boyfriend and girlfriend which does not honor God. We know from God's word that "Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled: for fornicators and adulterers God will judge." Hebrews 13:4 WEB.
We are so grateful that Johnny has a love for Jesus. This is a very good start for deliverance from evil and salvation. However, in order to have a relationship with Jesus and the assurance of salvation, Johnny needs to know that he is a sinner that cannot save himself and that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. Romans 10:9-10 WEB tells us, "that if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation." We pray that Johnny makes a public confession of his faith in Jesus Christ.
We pray for the restoration of his spirit, faith, and trust in Jesus. May he be covered by the precious blood of Jesus, which has the power to cleanse and protect him. May the Lord bless Johnny with a job and use his testimony to serve God's purposes and to further the kingdom of God in Johnny's life and the lives of those he knows.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before you today to lift up Johnny in prayer. Lord, we ask that you break the chains of addiction that have bound Johnny and set him free from the enemy's grasp. We pray for your healing hand to be upon him, restoring his spirit, faith, and trust in Jesus. We ask that you cover him with the precious blood of Jesus, protecting him from the enemy's attacks. Lord, we pray for your guidance and direction in Johnny's life, that he may find a job that honors you and use his testimony to serve your purposes. We ask that you remove the people in his life that are corrupting him. We pray for a godly spouse, that he may build a strong marriage founded on biblical principles. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
