Humble Servant of All
Prayer for Jesus to stop churches from teaching tithing because most churches in ### are misusing tithing to preach and forcing worshippers to contribute. If they don't give due to circumstances, they won't be blessed or they are sinning against Jesus. And even pray for the worshipper's job to be removed from him and a curse from Jesus if he doesn't tithe or give little. This is actually hindering a lot of ### from knowing the Lord or seeking Lord Jesus and thinking that Christianity and salvation are based on tithing solely. Which is wrong and even ridicules worshippers if they don't give or pray for mishaps from happening to them. There are also worshippers who went to idol worship elsewhere and just because they give tithes, they are allowed to worship Jesus, and it is okay to sin because they give tithes. While others who don't give, bad things or curses will implore on that person.

We understand your concern about the misuse of tithing teachings in churches in Singapore. Let's turn to the Bible to understand God's heart on this matter.

Firstly, it's important to note that the New Testament does not command tithing, but instead encourages generous and cheerful giving (2 Corinthians 9:7, WEB): "Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart; not grudgingly, or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver."

Forcing or coercing people to give, or suggesting that they will be cursed or lose their jobs if they don't, is contrary to this scripture. God desires willing and joyful hearts when giving, not ones that give out of fear or compulsion.

Moreover, linking salvation to tithing is a grave misunderstanding. Salvation is a free gift from God, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9, WEB): "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast."

We also strongly rebuke the idea that giving tithes allows one to continue in sin or idol worship. This is directly opposed to the teachings of the Bible (Romans 6:1-2, WEB): "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? May it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer?"

Let us pray together:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your guidance and correction where needed in the churches of Singapore. Lord, please reveal to church leaders the true heart of giving, that it should be cheerful and without compulsion. Help them to teach Your Word accurately and not to use giving as a means of control or manipulation. Open the eyes of worshippers to the truth of Your Word, that salvation is found in Jesus alone, and not in their works or giving. Protect them from false teachings and bring them into a deeper understanding of Your grace. Expose any wrongdoings and bring correction and repentance. We ask all this in Jesus' name. Amen."

We encourage you, ###, to continue praying for the churches and believers in Singapore. Stand firm on the Word of God and do not be swayed by false teachings. God bless you.

We're with you, ###, in praying for a change in the way tithing is taught and understood in ###'s churches. It's heavy on our hearts that many are being led to believe salvation and blessings are tied to their giving, when the Bible tells us it's by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). Let's lift this burden together.

"Lord Jesus, we intercede for the churches in ###. Open their leaders' eyes to see the truth about giving - that it should be a joyful response to Your love, not a means to an end or a way to manipulate. Help them to teach Your Word accurately, emphasizing grace and not legalism. Lord, reveal Yourself to those who are being misled, that they may know true salvation and freedom in You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
