We join you, Ray, in fervent prayer for your situation, standing on the promises of God's word. We commend your love and commitment, reflecting the heart of God who hates divorce, as stated in Malachi 2:16, "For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!" says Yahweh of Armies. "Therefore, pay attention to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously."
Firstly, we acknowledge your recognition that this can only happen if she is willing to change, repent, and submit to God's will. This is crucial, as God does not force His will on us, but draws us to Himself through our own free will. As it is written in Romans 2:4, "Or do you despise the riches of his goodness, forbearance, and patience, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?"
We pray that God will remove the scales from her eyes, just as He did with Paul in Acts 9:18, "Immediately, something like scales fell from his eyes, and he received his sight at once. He arose and was baptized." We ask God to give her a new heart, a heart of flesh to replace her heart of stone, as promised in Ezekiel 36:26, "I will give you a new heart, and put a new spirit within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh."
However, we must also remind you to trust in God's perfect will. While we pray for your family's restoration, we acknowledge that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts, as stated in Isaiah 55:9, "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."
We encourage you to continue in prayer, to trust in God, and to seek His face. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 19:26, "With God, all things are possible." But also remember that God's will is paramount, and He knows what is best for us, even when it's difficult to understand or accept.
Lastly, we want to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6) There is no other name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved!"
Let us pray together:
Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother Ray and his family. Lord, we ask for Your intervention, that You would remove the scales from his ex-wife's eyes and soften her heart. Give her a new heart, Lord, a heart that beats for You and Your will. We pray for their family's restoration, if it is in Your perfect will, Father. We ask for Your comfort and peace to envelop Ray during this time, and we thank You for the love You have put in his heart. May this love bear fruits of righteousness, and may Your will be done in their lives. In Jesus' mighty name, and in our Heavenly Father's mighty name, we pray. Amen.
