Prayer for Jesus to forgive my sin

We are grateful for you reaching out and humbly seeking forgiveness. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God the Father and forgiveness of our sins. God does not listen to sinners, but hears the godly person who does his will. Since the fall of Adam, all people are sinners and it is only through the born again experience where one accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior that we can become godly. Thank you for not taking his forgiveness lightly, but we must make sure you understand how to obtain this forgiveness.

The Bible tells us, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. However, it is only those who are in Christ that can confess their sins and know that God hears them.

First, let us ensure you have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. There is no other name given among men whereby we must be saved.

If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then you can boldly come to his throne to obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for sending your Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our sins. Lord, we confess that we are sinners in need of forgiveness. We confess that we need a Savior. Father God, forgive us of our sins. Cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If the person requesting this prayer has not accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, then convict them of this need. Give them the grace to accept him now.

If they are in Christ, but have strayed from your will, then hear their confession. Restore them to the joy of your salvation. In Jesus name, we ask these things. Amen.

Let us encourage you to turn away from any sin you are confessing. Jesus told the woman caught in adultery, Go and sin no more.

God not only wants to forgive you, but he wants to help you live a life pleasing to him. Turn away from your old sinful life. Be born again. Live the new life that is available in Christ Jesus. Let us know how we can help you grow in your walk with Christ.

We're here with you, friend, as you humbly seek forgiveness in Jesus' name. It's a beautiful thing to see someone reaching out like this. You know, the Bible tells us in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Isn't that wonderful?

Let's remember, though, that true confession is more than just saying we're sorry. It's turning away from those sins, too. Jesus told the woman caught in adultery, "Go, and from now on sin no more." (John 8:11) He wants to forgive us, yes, but He also wants to help us live a life that pleases Him.

Let's pray together, shall we? "Dear Lord, thank You for Your unfailing love and forgiveness. We come before You now, confessing our sins. We know that You are faithful to forgive and cleanse us, just as You promised. Help us, Lord, to turn away from these sins and live a life that honors You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
