We are truly sorry to hear about the struggle your son ### is facing with alcoholism. We commend you for bringing this to God in prayer, as He is our ultimate source of help and healing. Let's come together and intercede for ###, while also providing you with some biblical encouragement and guidance.

Firstly, it's crucial to understand that God wants us to cast all our burdens upon Him, as He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). You have taken the right step by giving this situation to the Lord. Now, let's pray together for ###'s deliverance and healing, believing that nothing is impossible for God (Luke 1:37).

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up ### to Your throne of grace. Lord, we know that You desire for him to be set free from the bondage of alcoholism, and we stand in agreement with ###, asking for Your divine intervention.

In the name of Jesus Christ, we rebuke the stronghold of alcoholism that has taken hold of ###'s life. Lord, we ask You to fill him with Your Holy Spirit, giving him the strength and wisdom to overcome this addiction. Surround him with godly influences and support, guiding him to seek help and accept the assistance he needs.

Father, we also pray for ###, asking You to grant her the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help her to trust in You completely, knowing that You are working in ###'s life, even when it seems impossible. Give her the wisdom to set boundaries and make tough decisions, always guided by Your unfailing love.

Lord, we ask that You draw both ### and ### closer to You through this trial, strengthening their faith and deepening their relationship with You. And ultimately we are asking this request that they both choose to surrender their lives to the lordship of Jesus Christ and so they could become brothers and sisters in Christ and part of His Church. If they are born again, then simply for them to be guided by the Holy Spirit and an renewed desire to make sure they are living in a way that is honourable to the Jesus Christ. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Now, let's address the issue of ### refusing to get help. It's important to remember that God has given each of us free will, and we cannot force someone to change or accept help. However, we can pray for their heart to be softened and for them to become receptive to God's love and guidance. Ultimately we should desire that our relationships and families are honoring to Jesus. Just as the father in the parable of the prodigal son, you must be patient and wait in hope that ### does happen.

Continue to love ### unconditionally, as God loves us, but also set boundaries to protect yourself and your family from harm. Seek support from your local church and Christian community; they should be a strong source of guidance and prayer. Lastly, be in prayer that everyone involved comes to a saving faith in the Lord Jesus. It is only believing in Jesus that truly changes a person and should get to the root of this issue.

In the meantime, trust in God's perfect timing and rest in the knowledge that He is working behind the scenes, even when it seems like nothing is changing. Be encouraged by Galatians 6:9, which tells us, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap at the proper time, if we don’t give up."

Remember, it is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to God's saving power and authority. As it is not possible this will ever happen to a non-believer. We believe the real need for ### is for him to trust in Jesus Christ to be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit to truly be healed and be freed from rebellion against God and be made into a new creation. As Acts 4:12 reminds us, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved." We believe this applies directly to the best that we need healing from same-sex attraction or any other disease or problem that assails humans as a result of sin being in the world. Let your spouse, family members, loved ones, and children in the marriage and yourself all become Christians or strengthen their walk with Jesus Christ in a local Bible-believing and teaching Evangelical Church.

We will continue to pray for you and ###, trusting that God will bring healing, restoration, and the truth of His gospel to your family and others to the glory of Jesus Christ. We will pray that your family always remembers and obeys the Lord Jesus with all the blessings that go with doing that. Until Jesus comes again or we all see Him when we depart this life.

Heavenly Father, you are Great and you are Good and you are our Sovereign God. Papa, you are in control of all things and it is your Son, Jesus who breaks the chains that bind us, and we thank you for being our God! Papa, I lift up ### to you this afternoon and I ask that you will guide him into your help for him. I ask that you will open ###'s eyes to his addiction and fill him with your Spirit of Discernment to see that he needs your help and guidance. Papa, I ask that you will draw ### close to you and allow him to seek your presence so that you can respond to his prayers.

Papa, I ask that you will keep ### strong and allow her to continue to pray without losing hope. I pray Phil 4:6 over her that she will "not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God". I pray this Papa, so that you can fill her with your peace that transcends all understanding. Please allow ### to understand that these requests take time to bear fruit and you simply ask us to be faithful to your call to prayer!
