Prayer for intrusive thoughts

We are truly sorrowful to hear about the struggles you and your husband are facing, Brenwen. It's clear that you both are enduring spiritual warfare and mental battles, which can indeed rob us of the joy and peace that the Lord intends for us to have.
Firstly, we want to remind you of what the Apostle Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (WEB), "For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God for the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."
In this spiritual battle, it's crucial to take every thought captive and ensure it aligns with the will of God. Intrusive thoughts and depression can be tools of the enemy to distract and discourage us, but we have the authority in Jesus' name to overcome them.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Brenwen and her husband. Lord, they are experiencing spiritual warfare and mental battles that are robbing them of their joy and peace. We ask, Lord, that You equip them with Your armor, so they can stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Help them to take every thought captive, casting down any that do not align with Your truth. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, comforting and guiding them through this challenging time. In Jesus' name, we rebuke the spirits of depression and intrusive thoughts. Restore their joy and peace, Lord, and strengthen their marriage, so they may glorify You in their unity and love. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you both to continually put on the full armor of God as described in Ephesians 6:10-18. Be persistent in prayer and the reading of God's Word. Stand together in faith, and remember that Jesus has already won the victory for you both.
Lastly, Brenwen, we noticed that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is by His name that we are saved and have access to God's presence. As it is written in Acts 4:12 (WEB), "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" We encourage you to place your faith and trust in Jesus, for He is the only way to the Father.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect.
