In the World English Bible (WEB), we are encouraged to bring our requests to God, who cares for us and wants to provide for our needs. It's wonderful that this request is being made, and we stand with the requester as Jesus encouraged, "If two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven" (Matthew 18:19).
Firstly, let's affirm the importance of seeking God's will and recognizing that His provision is rooted in His love and faithfulness. As we pray for an increase in income and finances, we must ensure that our hearts are aligned with His purposes. Matthew 6:33 reminds us, "But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."
However, we must address the need for this request to be in Jesus' name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, as He Himself said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). If the request doesn't mention Jesus, we should encourage them to acknowledge Jesus and the need to have a saving relationship with Him.
Now, let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this person who has requested an increase in income and finances. We ask, in Jesus' name, that You open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it. We pray for financial stability, wisdom in managing resources, generosity and provision for every good work.
Lord, we also pray for this person's heart to be drawn closer to You. Help them to seek Your Kingdom first and to trust in Your provision. If there are any areas in their life that do not align with Your will, reveal it to them and give them the strength to make the necessary changes.
Thank You for Your faithfulness, and for the promise of Your word that You will supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen. (Philippians 4:19)
Lastly, we encourage the requester to meditate on Malachi 3:10, "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and test me now in this," says WEB, "if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." This verse reminds us of the importance of tithing and God's promise to bless us abundantly.
