Michael, we understand that you're going through a challenging time, and we're here to support you in prayer and guidance. Firstly, we want to remind you that God cares for you deeply and wants to help you through this situation.
In Philippians 4:6-7 WEB it says, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
We need to address a couple of things first. You say you know this is going to be long. It is not the length that we are concerned about. It is simply that you made no mention of Jesus Christ or give any evidence of being a believer, follower of Christ, or a Christian. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father.
Acts 4:12 WEB says, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Romans 10:9-10 WEB says, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Romans 10:13 WEB says, "For, 'Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.'"
Jesus calls everyone to repent of their sins and follow him in faith. This call is not just for individuals, but for families and communities as well. We encourage you to examine your own faith and commitment to Jesus Christ.
In the meantime, let us pray for you. We will address your problem in this prayer and discuss it further following the prayer.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up Michael. We pray that you will comfort him and grant him immediate emotional relief from his anxiety and depression. Lord, we ask that you help him to fix his thoughts on you and to trust in your goodness and faithfulness.
We pray for healing in his relationship with his dad's ex-wife Norma and his half-brother Arthur. We ask that you will help all parties involved to forgive each other, just as you have forgiven us through Jesus Christ. We pray that you will soften their hearts and help them to resolve this situation peacefully.
Lord, we also pray that you will help Michael to forgive and to let go of the hurt that has been caused. We ask that you will help him to focus his thoughts on whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, we pray that Michael will think on these things.
Lord, we ask that you will guide Michael and show him the path that you would have him to take. We pray that you will grant him wisdom and discernment, and that you will give him a peace that surpasses all understanding.
We pray all these things and thank you for them in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
Michael, it's crucial to remember that forgiveness is not optional for believers. Jesus said in Matthew 6:14-15 WEB, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."
Resentment and unforgiveness can lead to bitterness and even physical illness. It's important to release this burden to God and trust that he will deal with the situation justly.
In Ephesians 4:29-32 WEB, it says, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving one another, just as God also in Christ forgave you."
Regarding your anxiety and depression, we encourage you to cast your cares upon Jesus, because he cares for you. In 1 Peter 5:7 WEB it says, "Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you."
Finally, we encourage you to be patient and to trust in God's timing. He is faithful, and he will help you through this. In Psalm 34:17-18 WEB it says, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
If you are not a believer, follower of Christ, or have not yet surrendered your life to Christ and want to be saved now please repeat this prayer out loud:
Dear Jesus,
I come to you just as I am, a sinner in need of a Savior. I believe that you are the Son of God, that you died on the cross for my sins, and that you rose again on the third day. I repent of my sins and invite you to come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Help me to follow you and to live for you all the days of my life. Amen.
