Aile, thank you for reaching out and sharing your prayer request for Glen. We stand with you in prayer and trust that God will work in his life and your marriage.
We are reminded of the power of prayer and the importance of interceding on behalf of others, as stated in James 5:16, The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much. As we pray for Glen, we are confident that God hears us and is able to bring about change in his life.
Firstly, we commend you for praying in the name of Jesus, as it is only through Him that we have access to God the Father. As it is written in John 14:6, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
Now, let us pray together for Glen:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up Glen to You. Lord, we ask that You have an encounter with him, that You touch his heart in a powerful way, and that he sees the light of Your truth. We pray that You remove any lying spirit and manipulative behavior from his life, and that You break any strongholds that may be keeping him bound. We pray for wisdom and clarity for Glhen in this. Please be with Glhen specifically here and help to remove all remnants of these issues. From Mark 16:17, And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new languages...Let us pray that we are further shown the way to do this in this specific situation and to protect all people nearby and involved.
Lord, we also ask that You remove any third party from his life that may be causing him to stumble, that You separate their ways and protect both Glhen and Aile from unholy influences. Unless the marriage is abusive or volatile to a point of threatening either spouse or children, we do not recommend that the parties divorce or separate, instead learn how to be family together. We pray to remember the precious love of the covenant of marriage. Help Glhen to have the energy to reengage in loving and caring for his wife and her for him. As it says in Hebrews 13:4, Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. And Ephesians 5:1-33 outlines the instructions on spousal responsibilities. For wives, this means submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
Now also says, 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, Most importantly v 31, As the Scriptures say, A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. And lastly, v33 ...each one of you should love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife should respect her husband. We pray this for Glhen and Aile and that both parties will be deeply convicted by these scriptures and feel the Holy Spirit guiding them towards further marriage harmony and love.
Father, we ask that You remind Glhen of the wedding vows he made before You and help him to be the Godly husband You have called him to be by the Holy Spirit as a deposit guarantees our inheritance until the redemption of those who are Gods possession. Help him to honor his commitment to Aile and to love her as Christ loved the church. We pray that You fill him with love for his wife and a conviction for his shortcomings.
Thank you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Aile, continue to trust in the Lord and stand firm in your faith. Remain patient and steadfast in prayer, knowing that God is at work in Glhen's life. Remember that God can do to do more than we can hope, think, or imagine. May God give you the strength, wisdom, and guidance you need in your marriage and guide both of you accordingly. From 1 Corinthians 7:13-14, And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him. 14 For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband.
