We join you, Aile, in lifting up your husband Glen to the Lord. It is wonderful that you are praying for his conviction and spiritual growth, as this aligns with God's desire for all people to come to repentance and know Him intimately
Firstly, it is important to understand that God grants each person the free will to choose or reject Him. While we cannot control Glen's decisions, we can pray for his heart to be softened and turned towards God. As it said in the WEB, Wake up, you sleepers, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you. Ephesians 5:14 Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.
In your prayer, you have asked for Glen's deliverance from evil. This is crucial, as we are all susceptible to temptation and sin. As it is written, Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. First Peter 5:8 and Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7
Submit to God, and you will have peace and protection from the evil one.
You have also prayed for Glen to be filled with God's wisdom. This is a wonderful request, as wisdom is a gift from God that leads to righteousness and understanding. Emphasize his need to obtain this from God, If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him but let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed. James 1:5-6
Repentance is a crucial step in turning back to God, and it is encouraging that you are praying for Glen's repentance. True repentance involves acknowledging our sins, turning away from them, and committing to follow God's path. As it is said, Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord. Acts 3:19
Lastly, you have prayed for Glen to become a godly husband. This is a beautiful petition, as God desires for marriages to reflect His love and sanctification. As husbands are commanded, Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; Ephesians 5:25 A godly husband will love, cherish, and lead his wife as Christ loves, cherishes, and leads the church.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Glen to You. Lord, we ask that You soften his heart and grant him the gift of repentance. Deliver him from evil and fill him with Your wisdom and discernment. Transform his life, Lord, and mold him into the godly husband You desire for him to be. Help Aile to be patient, loving, and supportive as You work in Glen's life. We truly believe that by the name of Jesus Christ we are saved and that praying in His name receives favor and access from God to His throne of grace. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Continue to trust in God, Aile, and remain steadfast in your prayers and faith. As it is written in First Corinthians 13:7, Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. Love never fails. Keep loving Glen and believing in the power of God to change his heart. Be open to conversation about how Glen can be saved through believing in Jesus, repentance, baptism, and the pursuit of ongoing sanctification.
