Veetwood, we understand your desire for a loving and committed relationship, and we are here to pray with you and guide you according to biblical principles.
Firstly, we want to remind you that God cares deeply about every aspect of your life, including your relationships. In Jeremiah 29:11 (WEB), God says, "For I know the plans I have for you, says WEB, plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." This verse assures us that God has a plan and a purpose for each of us, and He desires to give us a hopeful future.
However, it's crucial to approach relationships with a godly perspective. In 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (WEB), the Apostle Paul describes love as patient, kind, not envious, not boastful, not arrogant, not rude, not seeking its own way, not irritable, not resentful, not rejoicing in wrongdoing, but rejoicing in the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. This kind of love is a reflection of God's love for us, and it should be the foundation of any marriage.
We encourage you to seek a spouse who loves the Lord and is committed to following His ways. In 1 Corinthians 7:39 (WEB), it is written, "A wife is bound by law for as long as her husband lives; but if her husband is dead, she is free to be married to whom she desires, only in the Lord." This verse underscores the importance of marrying a fellow believer.
We also want to address the issue of living together before marriage. In the Bible, sexual intimacy and cohabitation are reserved for marriage. In 1 Corinthians 6:18 (WEB), it says, "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.'" Therefore, we advise you to pursue a relationship that honors God and waits for marriage before engaging in any form of sexual activity or living together.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus. Your word says in Mark 11:24, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
Lord, we ask You to guide ### in Your will for their life. Help them to trust in Your timing and to seek a spouse who loves You and is committed to following Your ways. Give them the strength to resist any temptation to engage in sexual activity outside of marriage or to live together before marriage. Help them to cultivate a relationship that is built on Your love and that honors You.
Lord, we also ask You to bless ### with hope and a future. May they find their hope in You, and may they trust in Your plans for their life. Give them patience and wisdom as they wait for Your perfect timing.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
