We understand that you're struggling with a gambling addiction and need courage to seek help. Firstly, we want to assure you that there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1 WEB), and it's through Him that we find the strength. You did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.
The Bible tells us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1 WEB). It also reminds us to be content with what we have, for He Himself has said, I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you (Hebrews 13:5 WEB). Gambling, a form of greed and covetousness, is forbidden. The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil (1 Timothy 6:10 WEB).
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our brother in Christ who is struggling with a gambling addiction. We know, Lord, that this is not Your will for his life. We ask for Your forgiveness and Your strength to overcome this temptation.
Lord Jesus, you told us to watch and pray that we enter not into temptation (Matthew 26:41 WEB). Help our brother to turn away from this sin, to the living God. Help him to turn from the power of Satan to God so that he may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Jesus (Acts 26:18 WEB). Help him to resist the devil, and to draw near to You, so the devil will flee from him (James 4:7-8 WEB).
Holy Spirit, give him the courage to seek help and the strength to overcome this addiction. Guide him to a community of believing Christians that will support him and help him to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18 WEB). Remind him of the promise that You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 WEB).
We ask this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
We encourage you to confess your sin to God and to those who can hold you accountable (James 5:16 WEB). Seek out a community of believers who can support and encourage you in your journey to overcome this addiction. Remember, God is with you and will give you the strength and courage you need to overcome this temptation. You are never alone in your struggles. Turn to Him and allow Him to carry your burden.
