We join you, Anonymous, in praying for the healing and restoration of your relationship with your parents, trusting in Jesus as our high priest and advocate with the father. In new testament of the Bible, in the book of Colossians verse 3:20, children are exhorted: "Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing in the Lord." This is the only commandment with a promise. That promise is in verse 21, " Honour your father and mother," which is the first commandment with a promise. When we break this commandment in not honoring our mother and father, our prayer concerning, prosperity, health, and power will not be answered. This does not mean our parents should rule over us as adults, but do mean we must always honor, respect, and if an a appropriate time in our adult life look after them.
Rebuking what is clearly obvious in your prayer request, relationships are not made great via pride. In James 4:6, it is written, "...God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble." We must not seek to make our parents proud, but instead focus on being humble, loving, and obedient, trusting that God will work in their hearts and minds to cultivate a deeper, more meaningful relationship, more in tune with Him.
It is heartening to see that faith is expressed in your request. You are praying in the name of Jesus, we honor your faith as it is only in the name of Jesus Christ we have access to the Father and we prove this via the scriptures. In Act 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Our faith in Him sets us free. As it is written in John 8:32, "You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." And, "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." verse 36. It is by the obedience to the word of God that we come to know the truth and believing in Jesus Christ we keep that faith to the end. And as to who is that Son that will set us free, in Mark 1:1 it reads, "The beginning of the Good News of Jesus Christ, the Son of God."
Together, let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up those who desire healing in their parental relationships. We ask, Lord, that You would soften hearts, heal wounded emotions, and foster a spirit of love, understanding, and honor between Anonymous and their parents as He prayed, In Jesus' name. Help his to be humble, obedient, and patient, trusting in Your perfect timing and will for their lives. Guide them in Your truth, and grant them the grace to walk in Your ways. May this Christmas season be a time of renewed love, forgiveness and joy, and may the bonds of family be strengthened and uplifted, In Jesus name.
Continue to seek the Lord with all your heart, mind, and soul, trusting that He will guide your steps and bring healing to your family. There is a special promise in 2 Chronicles 7:14. Prayer and respect are the key; do not honor a prayer to seek God's direction, and He will be indeed honored as He heals. Take courage in this promise, and remain steadfast in your faith and now at this time of the year. Surrender any pride for the more excellent way of love and humility, trusting that God will bring harmony to your family as Jesus promised. And, He also warnings in Mark 7:6 and 7, "And he said to them, 'You do very well(irony) put to work the commandment of God so to keep your tradition. 7 " For Moses said (these 10 commandments are tradition since 4000 years): "Honor your father and mother; and, 'He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death."
