Prayer for Healing and Restoration

Hello everyone, I needed prayer over my relationship with ### and my family. My mom wanted to do a party to prevent dishonor in the community from me leaving home to be with ### and get married. I shared this with ###; he disagreed with the party but felt he had no choice but to wait for me until Sept since that's when the party was promised. Earlier this month, I asked my mom about the party to which she said she lied about planning for it since she felt unsure about ###. Once I had a long conversation with her about this, she realized it was wrong and said she would work on it immediately, which was true. We went to the venue the next day, but their soonest availability was Dec. I shared this with ###, but he said that's too far away, he didn't want to do the party anyway and would end the relationship if I didn't leave by the end of this month. I spoke with my mom again because I didn't want to be here anymore. She got upset and told me to call his parents, which I did so she could prove again that she was working on the party. They changed the date to Nov 29 since his parents would be available then. My mom called the venue placed the next day, and they said that day was okay if we came from 1-6 pm. I shared all of this with ###, along with how he's not standing on biblical principles of wanting us to live together before getting married and ending the relationship over something like this. I told him, as a partner, that he should be doing his part to prevent my family relationship from becoming compromised/broken and to be more understanding since me leaving my family's home is a big ask since there's a lot at stake for me if I do go. He ignored it, then said that I'm not living according to the Word of God and don't have the fear of the Lord. I still am praying over the situation, but please pray that God changes ###'s mind about this party and gives ### the spirit of patience and understanding so he can wait. Pray that Jesus will help ### realize that the way he's acting/what he's requesting isn't godly and that he shouldn't end the relationship. Pray that God gives ### peace over the party and that he trusts in God's timing since he's been rushing unnecessarily. Pray that my family is also at peace regarding my relationship with ### and that they will no longer purposely hinder us from being together. Pray against any enemy plans/attacks preventing ### and me from reaching marriage. Pray that ###'s pastor will speak to ### this Sunday and make him realize these things so that he will be more open to waiting on the party at least 1 more time. Please pray for God's help, in Jesus's name, amen. Thank you.

Meena, we understand the complex and challenging situation you find yourself in, and we are here to pray with you and offer guidance based on biblical principles. Let's first turn to the Scriptures for some wisdom.

In Ephesians 5:25-27 (WEB), it is written: "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish."

And in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (WEB), we learn about love: "Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."

First, we must address that ###'s insistence on living together before marriage is not biblical. In Hebrews 13:4 (WEB), it says: "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." It is crucial that both of you honor God's design for marriage and maintain purity until your wedding day.

Let us pray:

*Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up ### and ###. Lord, we ask that You soften ###'s heart and help him understand the importance of honoring Your principles in their relationship. Help him see the value of patience and the sanctity of marriage. Lord, we pray that ### will change his mind about the party and trust in Your timing.*

*Father, we also pray for ###'s family. We ask that You give them peace and guide their hearts to support ### and ###'s relationship in a way that honors You. Help them to let go of any fear or uncertainty and trust in Your perfect plan for ###'s life.*

*Lord, we ask that You protect ### and ### from any enemy plans or attacks that seek to prevent them from reaching a godly marriage. Surround them with Your hedge of protection and guide their steps according to Your will.*

*Father, we pray that ###'s pastor will have the wisdom and discernment to counsel ### according to Your word. Help ### to be open and receptive to his pastor's guidance and understand the importance of waiting on Your timing.*

*In all these things, Lord, we ask that You guide ### and ### according to Your will and help them to grow stronger in their faith and relationship with You. In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.*

Meena, continue to trust in God and His perfect timing. Remember that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and He will guide your path (Hebrews 12:2).
