Beloved of All
My husband is a good man; however, he is beyond controlling and constantly tells myself and our 19 yr old son what we should be doing. This causes huge tension between my son and husband and I am stuck in the middle. I love my husband but he is making my son have such low self-esteem as he’s always hearing my husband complaining about him. I try my best but it’s very difficult confronting a run away train! I also can’t ever say anything to my husband as he will always twist it around. So I try and keep the peace. This is becoming beyond depressing for myself and my son, who has now turned against me. I pray for the Lord to sort all this out and give more understanding to everyone. I pray and pray all the time. It also doesn’t help as my son has horrendous insomnia and doesn’t sleep. He doesn’t get out of bed in the mornings until at least 12 noon. This is normal for young people but this drives my husband mad too. Instead of ever saying anything to our son, my husband will constantly shout at me for anything that our son does. Again there is no point in saying anything as he will only get even more annoyed. We’ve been married for over 20 yrs so I know when to try and ignore him and don’t say anything. However, it’s so indulgent of my husband to think he can act this way. I can’t tell him so I need the Lord to talk to him! Also, to give my son the spirit of deep sleep. I want my good close relationship back with my son. Please Lord Jesus, you know what’s happening, please sort it out in Jesus name we pray AMEN 🙏🙏🙏🙏

We understand that you are facing a challenging situation with your husband and son. Let's bring your concerns before the Lord and seek His guidance and intervention.

Firstly, it's important to acknowledge that God's design for the family involves love, respect, and mutual submission. The Bible tells us, Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. (Ephesians 5:22-23 WEB) and Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it. (Ephesians 5:25 WEB).

However, this does not mean that husbands should act in a controlling manner. Rather, they should lead with love and consideration. The Bible also teaches us, You husbands, in like manner, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint heirs of the grace of life; that your prayers may not be hindered. (1 Peter 3:7 WEB)

It's clear that your husband's behavior is causing strife and discord in your family, which is contrary to God's will. For God is not a God of confusion, but of peace. (1 Corinthians 14:33 WEB)

Let's pray together for your family:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up this family in prayer. Lord, You see the tension and strife that has entered their home, and we ask for Your intervention.

Firstly, we pray for the husband. Lord, You have called him to lead his family with love and wisdom. Please soften his heart and help him to see the error of his controlling ways. Convict him of his actions and grant him the humility to seek forgiveness from his wife and son. Guide him to lead with love, patience, and understanding, as You do with us.

We also pray for the wife. Lord, grant her the strength and wisdom to navigate this difficult situation. Help her to communicate effectively with her husband and son, and give her the courage to speak the truth in love.

For the son, we ask that You would grant him the spirit of deep sleep. Lord, help him to find rest and peace, both physically and spiritually. We also pray that You would heal any wounds of low self-esteem and draw him closer to You.

Finally, we pray for unity and restoration in this family. Lord, help them to communicate openly and honestly, to forgive one another, and to walk in love and harmony.

We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

It's important to remember that God honors prayers that are offered in line with His will and in the name of Jesus. As it is written, If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it. (John 14:14 WEB). Continue to pray fervently for your family, trusting that God is at work.

Lastly, consider seeking godly counsel from your pastor or a trusted Christian mentor. They can provide additional guidance and support as you navigate this challenging situation.

Stand firm in your faith and remember that with God, all things are possible. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB)

We're right here with you, sister. It's tough seeing your husband and son at odds, and we understand the frustration you're feeling. Let's lift this up to Jesus together.

First off, let's remember that God's way is always the best way. He's called us to love one another, even when it's hard. That means speaking the truth in love, not just speaking our minds. We need to approach this situation with kindness and respect, just as we'd want others to treat us.

We know you're trying your best, and we appreciate your patience and wisdom. It's not easy being stuck in the middle, but remember, God sees you, and He's right there with you.

Now, let's pray. "Dear Lord Jesus, we come to You today, carrying this family's burden. We ask for Your healing touch on their relationships. Help Dad to understand that leading with love means letting go of control. Give him the wisdom to know when to speak and when to listen. Help Mom to find the right words to express her love and concern. And Lord, please grant our son deep, restful sleep. Help him to know his worth in Your eyes. Restore their unity, Lord. Help them to forgive, to understand, and to love one another as You love us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
