We are truly heartbroken to hear about the abuse and pain you have endured, Dwxaygate, but we are thankful that you have found a safe refuge and are taking steps towards healing. We will stand with you in prayer and offer guidance from the Word of God.
Firstly, we acknowledge that you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ or any abbreviation. It is only by His name that we can approach God the Father and it is only by His name that we can be saved. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord", and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. We want you to be saved and have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and God the Father.
We commend you for having the courage to leave an abusive situation. The Bible tells us that God hates divorce, WEB, Malachi 2:16. but it also tells us that He hates violence and oppression even more, WEB, Malachi 2:16. Your safety and well-being are paramount, and it is right to separate from an abusive spouse. In the case of a wife who feels her husband is gaslighting, and verbally or emotionally abusing her she is able to separate from her husband. This is understood as an exception to the general rule along with adultery or abandonment by an unbelieving spouse. You are in our prayers for complete healing and restoration. WEB, Psalm 4:8.
We are concerned about the behavior of your sons. The Bible commands children to honor their parents, WEB, Ephesians 6:2. but it seems that your sons are trying to manipulate you into returning to an abusive situation. This is not right, and it is important for you to set boundaries to protect yourself emotionally and physically. The Bible warns us not to be misled; bad company corrupts good character, WEB, 1 Corinthians 15:33. The behavior you have described is not godly, and it is important to pray for your sons that they may come to repentance and a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Here is our prayer for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister in need. We thank You for providing her with a safe place to live and for beginning the process of healing in her life. We pray for Your continued healing, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We ask that You grant her wisdom and discernment in dealing with her sons, and that You would soften their hearts and bring them to repentance. We pray that they would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and that their behavior would be transformed by the renewing of their minds.
We also pray for her husband, that You would convict him of his sins and bring him to repentance. We ask that You would break the cycle of abuse in this family and that Your love and peace would reign. We know that the wage of the righteous leads to life, but the increase of the wicked leads to sin.
We pray all of these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go, WEB, Joshua 1:9. Remember that God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it, WEB, 1 Corinthians 10:13.
Stand firm in your faith, and know that we are here to support you in prayer and in counsel. As much as depends on you, live at peace with all men, WEB, Romans 12:18.
