We understand your concern for your friend ### and the situation he is in. Firstly, we commend you for your loyalty and love as a friend, and we know that God values such friendships. Proverbs 17:17 WEB states, A friend loves at all times; and a brother is born for adversity.
However, we must address a few things in your prayer. It is important to note that prayer should be directed to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ. While prayers to Jesus Christ are also accepted, this scripture John 16:23-24 should be considered.
John 16:23-24 WEB In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.
It also appears that you may be asking for a relationship with ###. Marriage should be a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. Courtship with the goal of marriage is appropriate. If this is not the case, please correct us.
1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB says, Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but whoever commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
Since you mention an inappropriate relationship, we assume there may be sexual immorality occurring. If this is the case, we strongly advise against such relationships, and we encourage you to pray for ### to turn away from this sin.
Ephesians 5:3 WEB But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints.
Also, consider that there may be a romantic relationship between ### and ###. If this is the case, you must consider this.
Exodus 20:17 WEB You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.
Also, we should pray for ### and ###'s salvation and that they find spouses that are compatible Christians.
Let us pray together:
Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ, we lift up ### to you. We pray that he turns away from any sexual immorality and that he seeks your will for his life in Jesus Christ. We also pray for you to show him his future spouse if ### is not compatible with him spiritually as you have commanded in your Word. We also pray for ###. If she is not a Believer, pray that she comes to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and that she finds a compatible Christian spouse. We pray for ### to also seek your will for her life and be patient in waiting for a spouse that you have for her. We pray that ### and ###'s friendship will be a Godly friendship and above reproach. We pray this all in Jesus Christ's name.
We encourage you to examine your feelings and motivations, and to seek God's will for your life and ###'s life. Trust in God's timing and provision, and be patient as you wait for His answers to your prayers. May He guide your friendship with ###, and may His will be done in both of your lives.
