We are grateful for your heartfelt prayer, SalmaSalem, and we stand with you in seeking God's help for forgiveness. Forgiveness is a central theme in the Bible, and it is essential for our spiritual well-being.
It is a powerful tool to have a forgiving heart and extends to those who may have harmed us.
We affirm that through the name of Jesus, we have access to God and also redemption and forgiveness, as there is no other name by which we are saved.
Remember how God calls us to forgive, as he is willing to continue to forgive us.
In the Lord's Prayer, Jesus teaches us to pray "Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors".
We must remember how blessed we are to have someone willing to forgive us and make things right with them, as we have asked the same.
We see the importance that Jesus taught that this can be as many as 490 times.
Then came Peter and said to him, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? until seven times? Jesus said to him, I say not to you, Until seven times; but, Until seventy times seven. Mat 18:21-22
To help you work on this, it is important to remember how often God has had to forgive us and to remember the sacrifice that Jesus made as a result to make this happen.
We are to decide to forgive the same as Jesus chooses to forgive us.
For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive; abounding in loving kindness to all those who call on you. Psa 86:5
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you. Eph 4:32
Let us together pray for your heart to be transformed to see the best in people and to continue to be forgiving. Lord Jesus, we ask for your help and guidance that SalemSalma is unable to forgive. We ask for him to be reminded of his own weakness and wickedness, and the endless times he has sinned against God and against others and yet he always forgives him. We ask for a forgiving heart and to continue being forgiving.
Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice.
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God also in Christ forgave you. Eph 4:31-32
