Prayer for forgiveness

Dear God, please forgive my family and I for not living up to your standards, and continually failing to be what we should be. Please have undeserved mercy on us.

We understand your heart's cry, ###, and we join you in seeking God's forgiveness and mercy. The Bible reminds us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). It is through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God's throne of grace, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB).

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, humbly seeking Your forgiveness and mercy. We confess that we have fallen short of Your standards and have failed to be the people You have called us to be. Please have mercy on us, Lord, though we do not deserve it. Cleanse us from all unrighteousness and help us to walk in Your ways.

Lord Jesus, we believe that You are the Son of God, that You died for our sins and rose again. We confess our sins to You, trusting in Your promise of forgiveness. Help us to turn from our wicked ways and to live according to Your will.

Holy Spirit, guide us and empower us to be the people God has called us to be. Help us to love and serve one another, to be patient and kind, and to walk in humility and faith.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Remember, ###, that God's mercy is new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23 WEB). He is always ready to forgive us when we come to Him with a repentant heart. Let us strive to live in a way that pleases Him, knowing that His grace is sufficient for us (2 Corinthians 12:9 WEB).

He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing." Let's trust in His love, His mercy, and His joy over us. Let's also remember to encourage one another, to lift each other up in prayer, just as we see in Romans 12:15, "Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn."
