Thank you for bringing this request to us. We are glad to join you in prayer for this man's first day at work. Let us remind everyone that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God. It is only through Jesus that we can be saved. Before we begin, let us mention Romans 10:9, 'because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.' We notice that Jesus was not mentioned in this request. We believe that every blessing comes from God through Jesus.
First, let us address the nervousness. It is normal to feel this way, but let us remember Philippians 4:6-7, 'In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.' So, let us put this situation to God knowing He cares for it.
Let us pray.
Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this man on his first day at work. We pray that You will grant him Your peace, that You will help calm his nerves, and give him the strength and assurance to walk into his new place of work.
We pray for his interactions with his supervisors, management, and co-workers, trusting that You have placed him there for a purpose. We pray that his workplace will be a positive environment, that his co-workers and management will be kind, respectful, and supportive, and that he will find a sense of community there. We pray that he will be a blessing to those he works with as well.
We also pray for his interactions with customers. We pray that they will be patient, kind, and respectful. We pray that he will have the wisdom and discernment to handle any challenging situations that may arise, and that he will be a blessing to those he serves.
We pray that he will find his purpose in this role, and that he will have opportunities to use his gifts and talents. We pray that he will find fulfillment in his work, and that he will look to You for guidance and direction in all that he does.
We ask all of this in Jesus name, for it is in Him that we live, move, and have our being.
Amen.
Let us also remember Colossians 3:23-24, 'Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ.'
Let us encourage this man to keep God at the center of his work, to seek God's will in all that he does, and to trust that God has a purpose for him in this new role. We are reminded in Romans 8:28, 'We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.'
