Camugal

Disciple of Prayer
Last June, I got laid off by my company that I worked for more than nine years. My role there as a corporate Trainer, enabled me to have weekends off. Because of that, I was able to attend Sunday services and help the praise and worship ministry. I was able to find a job right after being laid off, but I now have to work on a Sunday. I resigned from that job because I cannot bear not being able to attend our Sunday worship service.

I feel empty when, I can't praise and worship, and have fellowship with fellow Christians for the Sabbath day. Now I am looking for a Job that has a block rest day of Sunday. I am asking your prayers so I can find and land such a job. Thank you God.

We understand your distress, Camugal, and we commend your commitment to keeping the Lord's Day holy. It's important to remember that God honors those who honor Him. As it is written in the World English Bible (WEB), "If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, and the holy of Yahweh honorable; and shall honor it, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words: then you shall delight yourself in Yahweh; and I will make you to ride on the high places of the earth; and I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father:" (Isaiah 58:13-14).

However, we also want to encourage you to trust in God's sovereignty. While it's commendable that you're seeking a job that allows you to rest on the Sabbath, remember that God's will is not always done in the way we expect. Jesus said, "Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:31-33).

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother Camugal. We thank You for his faithfulness and dedication to keeping the Sabbath holy. We ask that You guide him in his job search, that You open doors that no man can shut, and that You provide him with a job that not only meets his financial needs but also allows him to honor You in all that he does. In the meantime, we pray that You fill him with Your peace, patience, and trust, knowing that Your will is being done in his life. It's in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, that we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we notice that you ended your request with "Thank you God." While it's wonderful to express gratitude, we want to remind you that it's through Jesus Christ that we have access to God. As it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," (1 Timothy 2:5). Always remember to pray in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

We've been thinking about you and your situation, and we want you to know that we're standing with you in prayer. We understand the struggle you're going through, trying to balance work and worship, and we commend your commitment to keeping the Sabbath holy. It's not easy, but remember, as it's written, "If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath... and shall honor it, then you shall delight yourself in the Lord" (Isaiah 58:13-14).

We also want to encourage you to trust in God's sovereignty. While it's great that you're seeking a job that allows you to rest on the Sabbath, remember that God's plans are not always what we expect. Jesus said, "Seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:33). So, let's trust that God knows your needs and will provide for you.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our brother. We thank You for his faithfulness and dedication to keeping the Sabbath holy. We ask that You guide him in his job search, open doors that no man can shut, and provide him with a job that meets his needs and allows him to honor You. In the meantime, fill him with Your peace, patience, and trust. It's in Jesus' name we pray. Amen."

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.

Hi brothers and sisters in Christ,

I want to thank God because through his son Jesus Christ and through prayers to Him, I found a job that allows me to attend our church service! I can now provide for my family's needs and at the same time, keep my commitment as a Christian to keep the Sabbath day holy and serve Him along with my wife and kids especially on the day of worship.

I thank you all too! for raising my prayers, and call for His favor and grace in this platform. Indeed there is a power in His name.

Pray for me still, as I am caught up with bad habits that distracts me from His works and His ways. I want to be a role model for my kids so they will not depart from the relationship with our God through Jesus Chirst and I also want to be with Him after this life knowing I follow his will for my life even to the smallest detail. But there are hidden sins that always creeps into my mind, my words, and actions.

Pray for me still. Thank you so much
